A very nice surprise as very modern inside. A busy pub/restaurant with a nice selection of well cooked traditional dishes. Portions are good, tasty food and very friendly staff, plus not a wallet buster. A brilliant absolutely loads of it to be fair. Stepdaughter took half the nachos starter home lol. Massive mega burger and SD and wife said & was better than the famous brand chipper here. My only thing is they don't really have real ales. They have John Smiths Bitter and Shipwreck IPA and that's it. The interior is very clean and tidy ad were the toilets. Great food, great value. Can't go wrong. Visited a couple of times, the food has been a standard on each occasion. Definitely booking in advance. One thing to note is they deliver the bill to your table, but you pay at the counter. Fantastic food and great service. Very nice and clean. Food was beautiful, service with brilliant it has however got a tad more expensive since the last that I was there but it was well worth it Came here recently with some work colleagues, very nice food (highly the Steak and Ale pie). There was also a speak going on where you could have 2 select main meals for £25. Part of one of our meals was missing but once notified the were quick to rectify the issue. Absolutely excellent for dining, was planning on stopping at the Gardeners but missed it and was turning round here. Seemed like fate brought me here so why not? Anyway, had a big steak, cooked to perfection. Wife had fish. We didn’t have to wait long and really enjoyed it. Will be back… What a little gem! It's very modern and clean; and the service was amazing. We ordered the steak and ale pie and the chicken Kiev. Both of the main components were delicious: the pie had tender meat and the Kiev was nicely crusted, with a rich garlic sauce over the top. The champ mash was fresh and the were crispy, yet fluffy. The single component that wasn't 5/5 was the veg as it was slightly overdone. That won't stop me from visiting again though. First visit to blacksmith arms and was not disappointed lovely food , friendly polite and value for what you get . Highly recommend. Starters we had halloumi fries and calamari and for main was lasagne and Philly steak flatbread Great food. Was a very busy lunch but we were offered a table quickly. Large menu to choose from. selection of drinks. We'll definitely be back. Just been for a to celebrate Grandsons birthday. Me and my 2 Grandsons had the Haddock and (homemade). Husband and Son had steak and Daughter in law had Something Indian. Every was delicious 😋 Service was excellent and all very reasonably priced. My husband said it's the best out for a long time. Will definitely be going back. Enjoyed a really lovely here today: the halloumi skillet was absolutely delicious. Other members of the party had chilli and lime salmon and king prawn skillet, and and chips. We were all impressed with the quality and flavour of the food, it was superb. The were very friendly. Would highly recommend. Compliments to the chef, and all the staff, and thank you all for a lovely lunch. Called in on Sunday for the very first after driving past so many times.Very friendly staff. Food was excellent with so many choices on menu. Pub is very tastefully decorated out with a terrific atmosphere. Tables are very well spaced out, no one on top of each other. Will definitely recommend. We took our teenage Grandson for lunch yesterday and had an excellent meal, it was busy and we were told there would be a wait for our food but considering the amount of people dining and only two serving food, drinks and attending to customers we really didn't have a long wait, the food was very as usual, the thing about the "Blacksmiths" is they serve food from lunch right through to the evening, there is an extensive menu with offers, we always enjoy the food here and we will return. Even though my lemon and coconut cheesecake base didn't taste very gingery 😂😂 I ordered & £12.50 while my wife wanted a small & at £9.50. The batter on both servings was undercooked being very soggy under the top layer. On paying the bill I was charged an extra £2 on my wife’s meal. When questioned I was told because of the fish, I had no idea what that referred to but let it go. were but looked overstretched. Nice atmosphere and well laid out tables. Just managed to get last parking space. Stopped for a couple of pints. were super friendly, beer was cold and well priced. Had a great The food here is delicious. I had the beef & ale pie, big chunks of lean beef and plenty of it and the pastry was melt in the mouth. Our server was pleasant & polite and there was no rush to vacate the table. The only downside was the smell of fish, we were there on a Saturday afternoon and & appeared very popular. I would highly Blacksmiths for a or coffee & catch up. Reasonable prices & free parking. Absolutely loved it, will definitely re visit. The pub itself is lovely..me and my partner have been three times and the food has been delightful and very rich (which may not always be people’s taste). However there is one particular young male member who has served us every has had a “I’d rather not be here or speak to customers” attitude and it seems to make the atmosphere very uncomfortable, seems happy to talk to the behind the bar but as soon as me and my partner have approached the bar for a table we’ve been met with nothing but a rude attitude Visited a couple of weeks ago by chance so decided to visit again on Sunday. They managed to squeeze us in as we hadn’t booked. Service great, happy and the food is amazing.
