If you are interested in planes, this is the place to visit. Adam, our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable about the planes. The Aviation Discovery was fun with the flight simulator experience. Place has an aircraft engine, morse code machinery and a couple of cockpits on display. Very knowledgeable lads there doing the tour. The retired air force servicemen have plenty of stories to share. There is also an upstairs cafe which was closed when we visited. Wish they had a bigger area to display all their collection, a proper one-way path, and more engaging activities for everyone. Wonderful with so much to do and see and experience. A place to and to learn. This place is fab! Our two guides, Daniel and Jack, were brilliant! Two very knowledgeable young lads! Alex also gave us a phenomenal lesson in the flight simulator! Highly recommend a wee trip here! If you have any interest in aviation, this is the place to go! So many interesting things to see! Such an important collection and we are lucky to have it in Ireland! The team there are wonderful and are full of insights, history and information! Loved it! This is a place to go when you are in the Shannon Airport area. A small museum, kept up by a very motivated small group lead by Jane. You’ll be able to see and also touch quite some aviation articles and if you are lucky there’ll be some pilots or engineers you can talk to. I always stop by when I’m over there. Wonderful experience, 100/10. Staffed by friendly, passionate and awesome people. The exhibits are clearly set up with so much enthusiasm and care. A must for anyone visiting the area! Truly a lovely experience. Passed it many many times and finally went in with my 8yo son and husband. This is quite a gem ! It is bigger than expected with truly collection. The staff were really and love to tell you stories about the different planes. Our 2 young enthusiastic guides gave us knowledgable through the indoor and outside hangars. It was a day and we will definitely again ! My grandson and myself did the Aviation on Saturday 13th April, It was indeed a for us both, we loved the flight sim and were both enthralled by the variety of military and civil aircraft on display. The staff were really helpful and gave us a really knowledgable through the indoor and outside hangars. A day out for enthusiast and non-enthusiast alike…! Absolutely and highly recommend a visit. Looking forward to booking a summer camp and that you do birthday parties, school tours and so much more A big thank you to Jane and Sarah and most importantly our guide Jack who is passionate about his planes!!! Absolutely loved it for adults and children.. highly recommend. What a wonderful day we had at Shannon Aviation Museum! Lovely from start to finish. Daniel our guide provided us with a depth of knowledge far beyond his years, extremely impressive and professional. We had fun on the flight sims. Jim then reeled in many stories from over the years, of particular interest was the Bremen, the first east to west Atlantic non stop air crossing. Finally I must give a huge thank you to Brian. While we were looking at the WW2 exhibit we got chatting, my grandfather served in Asia and received the Burma Star. Brian actually gave my son the same medal as his grandfather received. Needless to say he was delighted, it made for a tale for show and tell and it didn’t leave his hand for the week! Thanks to everyone at the for making it such a day, highly recommended. What an enjoyable afternoon my 11 year old daughter and I had at this museum! The enthusiasm of our young guides and teachers (we did the discovery tour) was infectious. This is quite a gem. Thank you Jane and Sarah for an enjoyable of your impressive museum. Your warm welcome and extensive knowledge helped to improve the even further. Special thanks for your caring efforts to accommodate our additional mobility needs. We'll be back! A hidden gem! I didn't expect this. A truly collection. Our guide was very well informed and gave us so much interesting information. It was an absolute pleasure listening to this passionate man and the whole team was so amazing making our trip really enjoyable. This is packed with so many things so we definitely have to do it again. I want to share my absolute delight with the Shannon Aviation Museum! It was an absolutely unforgettable day, filled with vivid impressions. Don't let its modest size fool you – inside, you'll find such incredible detail and depth of information that's rarely seen even in the biggest museums. The main highlight for me was the Boeing 737 simulator. It was such a realistic and captivating that I got more emotions from it than from any other museum! A separate and huge thank you to all the staff for their professionalism, helpfulness, and incredible work, which truly brings this place to life. And the gift of our own life vest was a pleasant surprise and a perfect end to this amazing day. The Shannon Aviation Museum, without a doubt, holds the top spot in my personal ranking! This is a gem for kids and adults, this is our first time to any Aviation museum, we got an opportunity to take guided with Daniel and Ethan, they were both lovely in explaining the details with fun facts. Daniel is so kind to explain queries asked by my kids, the whole place and the staff are friendly and welcoming. This is well worth a visit. It's not at all expensive, the guided only takes about an hour. Adam was our guide, and he is very knowledgeable , and polite with a good sense of humour. The takes in all the whole aircrafts and some other main pieces, but after the tour, you are allowed free time to explore and the place is full of interesting gems. We enjoyed our and would recommend it.
