On 22 July, 2024, my wife sent me her selfie from the top of tour Philippe le Bon with the as the backdrop. Visiting the big was another experience. We could only walk past as we didn’t afford the time to stay in the Square’s restaurants. Place de la Liberation, in the historic center of Dijon. A semi-circled place on the side of the palace of the Dukes of Burgundy. Renovated in 2005-2006. Three fountains were installed and its surface was covered with the local Comblanchien limestone, known for its beautiful beige color. Liberation is really the Town centre of Dijon. It is a nice very large semi circle packed with fabulous restaurants & café's. Many Brasseries and gift shops on outer ring Stately and lively at the end of Dijon city center. Loved the "horizontal" fountain in the middle of the place. Pleasant location by day and by night very pleasant place. good eating and coffee. pay a little more because of the location. museum located here as well. new Tombs of Duke of Burgundy here. fountains for the kids to play in if hot Beautiful in the heart of the d town of Djion. Lovely sunny day and was great to just sit in this huge open space and watch the world go by. Cafes around the semicircular edges were bustling and people milling around but didn't feel crowded. Small fountains criss the large stone pedestrianised you can sit and admire the granduer and excellence of the city Hall free from cars. Came for drinks early evening and back for coffee next day loved it. Big and nice. Cool place to seat in one of the restaurants to take a meal or just enjoy a drink. Beautiful with nice terraces and area to rest and enjoy. To have some rest from the summer heat here for the kids and grown-ups A huge semicircle of beautiful buildings, wonderful architecture, rich in local history with national significance. The cafes, shops and restaurants complement the grand palace, art gallery and the many icons of this picturesque city.. Great place to eat, lots of restaurants and little fountains where the kids can play. Also very beautiful at night!
