The crowd was mostly tourists, but they still made the introductions in both Portuguese and English which was nice. The perfect introduction to one of the most lovely traditions of Portugal. Fado ao Centro is a respectfully designed concert experience that creates a micro-space of culture, history and where you can totally feel, at least for a bit, how it was to be around in Coimbra on those "golden years" of Fado. After the performance was over, we had a glass of port with the musicians and chatted to them about the music, Coimbra, and Portugal in general.
