Very good facilities, a bit expensive treatment and massage. Very nice spa. Unfortunately the water was not hot, but rather "warm". The steam room was nice and hot though as was the sauna. The room for relaxing was also cold, so that was also a small disappointment. This is a hydrotherapy place, all indoor, not a natural outdoor hot spring like I thought before coming. It was super nice and relaxing though. We paid €30/person/hour for the water circuit. It was worth the money. It was like you have a professional jacuzzi, also hot shower. Just the light in the pool was strange and creepy, changing from red, yellow, blue, green,...The staff were friendly. If it's the first time you're here just like us, remember: - bring your own waterproof slipper or pay for it at €4/pair on site - bring your own hair cap or borrow/buy onsite. We borrowed. You may not be that lucky and have to pay. - bring the masks as the place was considered a health care center. No steam bath or sauna was included or available. No massage treatments were available. Visited some time ago and really loved the place which of course is a lot different to a spa like Karlovy Vary in Czechia Enjoyed 90 min at this beautiful clean spa. Lots of different hydrotherapy pool options, sauna, steam room (hammam). Very relaxing, would visit again for sure! Remember to bring flipflops, swim suit and a bathing cap/swim cap. And book a reservation for a specific time in advance via email or phone on the website. They ensure there is no overcrowding and therefore a relaxing visit. I emailed an inquiry on a Sunday and they replied with availability for the next day. So very prompt! :) The person at the front desk is confrontational and unapologetically crass. They claim you must book online in advance, but for a 15:00-17:00 booking, we were booked for 17:30... While we assumed the booked program started at 15:00. But it's all normal because they "have safeguards in their terms and conditions"... Basically, as a customer, I was not satisfied with the online booking and reception part. For what was expected to be a relaxing experience it had a very stressful start. Finally managed to find an alternative program and all remaining staff was very nice and professional. We were planning to visit this thermal bath, but 38 Euro for an hour is too expensive considering you also have to spend time to change in the cabin. We met other guests at our hotel from Germany and they were also driven away by the high price. The entry price should be minimum for 3 hrs, like in the thermal baths in Germany. Imagine going with a family of 4. Not affordable for foreigners, let alone the locals. Also, 1 hour closed for lunch means the bath doesn't accept anyone after noon. There is no economy in Luso, half of the buildings in this town are empty and look poor. Luso, what are you doing to help hotels and the economy in this area? Nothing. Luso water company, how about helping fix up buildings and parks in your source town? The front desk person was decidedly one of the most unhelpful people I’ve ever encountered. We went there on a hot Monday afternoon in July and it was a very quiet day in the town due to local religious celebrations and spa also seemed very quiet. She asked if we had a booking, I said there is no self-booking system in their website and I have no Portuguese phone number to call from to book. We went at 4pm and apparently “there was no availability for the rest of the afternoon”. The receptionist seemed a bit racist and preconceived in the way she looked at me and her refusal to help us, as I specifically told her we were only in Luso for the day. She was unmoved and did not offer any further solutions, which as a professional is what you’re meant to do. That is literally the one job they have. I had to translate this all to my partner from Portuguese, that basically these people think they are better than us so best to leave and spend our money elsewhere. What a horrible experience. I won’t be returning.
