Nice spot mainly in the sense you're at 3km from city center and it seems you're out in the mountain. There is good access, good parking and enough services. level is low, so not really easy for swimming It's amazing that Coimbra has such a lovely so close to the town. If you don't have a car, you can get any bus to "Polo II" and walk from there,it's not so far. The is cool but refreshing in the summer heat. Inside the cordons, it's relatively shallow. You can go outside them to swim in deeper water. There were plenty of shops and a lot of folk enjoying the albeit maintaining distance. A well maintained and attractive spot with beautiful views! It's a nice place to relax at waterside. Just note that the is made from tiny rocks, not sand Really nice river close to the city center. Be advised that the sand is quite coarse (more like gravel/small pebbles) so try to bring adequate footwear. In the designated area for swimming (with a lifeguard) the depth is low... Waist deep for an average sized adult. Can get a bit crowded but it is definitely worth a try :) Nice river beach. Lots of shadows and very pleasant. Could be better taken care. is 1h walking from Coimbra center. On the there are many small but sharp stones. The wasn’t very clean either. There are few foodtracks with alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, ice-cream etc. Fortunately there are trees that gives shadow on sunny days Great spot to swim or have young kids play in shallow searching for little fish. Wearing shoes is recommended but not entirely essential. It's more a rocks and pebbles area rather than sand. If planning on a long stay, take an umbrella and arrive early to find parking. Parking has no shade really to speak of. Good river beach, 9 min from the center of Coimbra. In the summer there are open bars.
