Really just a big tourist place as in build it and they will come , and yes we did come. Other than the temperature was a warm minus 14 c and the snow was belting down it was a very cool place to be . If you notice the place is also on the article circle line which is really cool , their was a house santa to but he was very busy and entry was free it was a really great spot to Preparazione e gentilezza Perfectly located, super informative, very nice and patient staff, lots of leaflets and maps, even some basic souvenirs. If you somehow arrived at Rovaniemi withouht having researched things beforehand, this should be a mandatory stop which will help you more than waste your time Rovaniemi doesn’t want tourists? We spent two nights in Rovaniemi as we wanted to the famous touristic attraction of Rovaniemi, the “Santa Claus Village”. The people you meet in the streets and the shops are very friendly and eager to help you and this is the only thing that makes the experience better. Wherever you go cafes/supermarkets EVERYTHING is in Finnish. I am not saying change the signs complete to English, but you are a touristic location, PLEASE add some basic information. The other day I almost ordered a spicy tuna sandwich as I was using Google translate while trying to order something to eat for breakfast and there were no signs in English. What if someone has an allergy? Additionally, the whole time we were there, we did not see any road or pavement de-icing. You can’t imagine how slippery the pavements were. In my opinion all the above are not making you feel that you are welcome as a tourist there, so I wouldn’t spend more than a day in Rovaniemi. Pour donner un avis, il faudrait qu'il soit ouvert Rovaniemi is a modern city and the home of Santa Claus. It's a must to the city and its surroundings. I grew up in the area, but still, I enjoy going there. It's a place to both in summer and in winter because there's always something going on. The Rovaniemi Tourist Information Center deserves a big shoutout! The ladies inside were incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to assist visitors like me. Their welcoming smiles made me feel instantly at ease and eager to explore everything Rovaniemi has to offer. Their cheerful demeanor and willingness to assist truly enhanced my experience in the city. A huge thank you to the wonderful team at the Rovaniemi Tourist Information Center for their exceptional service and warm hospitality! Visited the Rovaniemi Tourist Information Center and was thoroughly impressed by the assistance received. The girls there were incredibly kind and helpful, going above and beyond to aid with every request. If you're ever in need of an activity, they know a lot of different providers and can help you find something perfect. Most of the ideas they provide are on the beaten path, but they're really excellent. Highly appreciated and recommended for all travelers. It’s reassuring to know that when travelers have any doubts or problems, they’re here for you, capable of making your trip even more outstanding. Very kind helpful staff An important place for free and easy travellers. They have all the details you need from land tours, huskies sled to maps and bus schedules. Gute Beratung No tiene nada que ver con una oficina de turismo en España. Es una oficina más de venta de excursiones. Solo hay una persona que habla inglés. No nos recomendó ninguna visita simplemente nos dio un folleto de excursiones con sus precios en español. Vamos utilidad poca. I was searching for apuka shuttle bus stop thanks to to nice people in this office I found it and it was really near :-) on the left ... the tiny sign ;-) La ragazza al front desk è stata utile e gentile. Purtroppo è aperto poche ore al giorno How can they could be closed on a saturday? I really don't undertand 🥺😟 Rovaniemi is such a beautiful place!! Santa Claus Village is the main attraction Rovaniemi was very disappointing for various reasons: (visit in Feb 2025) - the City itself looks rather poor (like in some former Eastern countries in the 1960s) - no "northernly charme" no block houses, no wood houses etc. just square blocks - Tourists are paying very very much for all activities, all souvenirs, all hotels, restaurants etc. - very poor experience in the city centers Santa Claus office: we were gently asked in to see Santa to shake his hand and take a picture... only to learn, that one picture costs 25 Euros. This is a rip off... - same experience in the Santa Claus village to wait quite some time to see Santa in his post office (Santa was lovely and a very nice person); once you shake hands with Santa you must allow to be photographed; when you want to buy the picture they charge you 40 Euros for one print or 55 Euros for the digital pictures; this is insane and very expensive and you feel like ripped off as a tourist. Why does everything have to be soooo expensive around Rovaniemi. Our impression was (also when talking to local people) that there are some big companies and only their owners make a fortune. The government should set some rules and limits towards overcharging tourists as in the long term they would not return. I felt honored to help. It also makes me feel useful.
