Padernello Castle, surrounded by the countryside, in the middle of fields, with a moat protecting it from assaults and various dangers, is the noble element of a splendid rural hamlet, with its spacious and elegant inner courtyards. Bellissimo, da visitare Worth a pit stop 🛑 Only with reservation in advance a guided tour of 2,5hours of and village. We just strolled outside. The Padernello’s with moat of water is kept in good condition ...a wonderful place to see. Its silence by night feel you something of mystery and charm that gets close to you like part of an old legend. Un favoloso gioiello storico, architettonico in mezzo alla campagna, anche il piccolo borgo merita Interessante la visita guidata a varie stanze del castello Nice small Castello. We visited during a hand made market. Wow absolute stunning castle. A very pleasant surprise, we visited Padernello during a lovely event showcasing exhibits of artifacts, jewelry, clothing, all set against the splendid medieval backdrop. The is open year-round and can only be visited with a guided tour lasting about an hour; booking is highly recommended. The very knowledgeable guide passionately recounted the history and the significant restoration work carried out in the castle. She also mentioned that art exhibitions and ongoing projects, organized through the Castello di Padernello Foundation, contribute to the revival of the and the small village. I greatly appreciated the explanation and admired the various rooms, taking a journey into the past, especially when looking at photos of the before its restoration. Highly recommended for everyone. The was built by the noble Martinengo family in the second half of the 1400s, transformed into a noble residence in the 1700s. Surrounded by a moat, access is through a functional drawbridge. The Martinengo family lineage ended in 1861, and after some years, the property passed to the Salvadego family, whose last descendant left the to retire to the palace in Brescia. The remained abandoned since 1961 and fell into disrepair. A group of industrialists, with the support of the Municipality of Borgo San Giacomo, began restoration work. Currently, the is owned by the Municipality of Borgo San Giacomo (the majority owner) and a private company. The Castello di Padernello Foundation has been granted the use of the to promote activities, conferences, exhibitions, and raise funds for restoration projects. Many interventions have been carried out in various parts in recent years and have been completed. The can be visited with guides. A really great place. One of the very few in Italy that still has a moat with water in it. However, the highlight come on the third Sunday of every month, when a Slow Food sponsored market is held. Amazing products can be bought; cured meat, wonderful breads, great cheeses, some of the best chicken, 180 days, I had in a long time (you'll need a kitchen to cook it ) and much more. Don't miss it if you have the chance! Nice at country side Beautiful! Bellísima scoperta e veramente pieno...ottima guida e poi ambiente suggestivo. 10 lode per questo meraviglioso luogo. Complimenti per il lavoro svolto per farlo riaprire al pubblico.
