It is stunning from the outside! It’s relatively small inside for just the portion. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to do any of the caves. The audio was nice to have explanations as you go from each room. It was amazing at how well the and its historical significance and artifacts have been presented and stored. Very educational. A must see for everyone. Note that some of the higher levels are quite steep but worth the climb. Postojna is built into a cliff, part cave, part medieval fortress. Walking through it feels like you're in a real-life fantasy movie. The views are awesome, the history is wild, and it’s just super fun to explore. Totally worth the visit if you're anywhere near Postojna. Very nice historical place. One of the oldest castles in Slovenia . Amazing views. Better to start the observation from Postoynya cave ( leave the car there ) and use shuttle to get to the ( there is a comprehensive ticket for all) . The built into the side of the hill is pretty cool but I probably would have saved the 60 Euro it cost my family to enter by looking at it from the outside. The free app audio guide was helpful and not too detailed - the armoury was probably the most interesting part but really we were in and out in an hour without rushing. The stone stairs can be very slippery especially because it was also raining when we went. I also didn’t realise it was 9km from Postojna not near the caves. Parking is also 6 Euro. We were hoping the walking part was at our own pace, but after we were inside, we definitely understood the need to stay with the group. I enjoyed having the audio device to learn about each part of the caverns. Everything ran smoothly and it was such an incredible experience… a must do ! THIS IS NOT THE CASTLE! We accidentally trekked up a mountain thinking we were making our way to the castle. The pictures on the other reviews are incorrect - get a shuttle bus or taxi from the cave as the REAL is 9km away. Incorrect pictures aside, it was a fantastic view from the top. Medium difficulty climb, not safe for young kids, as there’s a scramble section just before the top. Wear trousers as there are a lot of stinging nettles.
