Delamont Country is a council managed just a few minutes drive from Downpatrick and just off the shores of Strangford Lough. There is a cost of 5 pounds per car which I thought was very reasonable. There are a number of amenities and different paths to walk. I personally loved the mix of different environments: beach; grassland; forest, it really has a lot to offer! The paths are well maintained and a here can be as long or as quick as you need it to be. For children there is a play and even a train which does a loop through part of the park. There is also a cafe which sells some baked goods, ice cream and coffees. Overall I enjoyed my visit and would definitely advise others to come and check it out 😊 Lovely with several trails and over Strangford lough. Good playground and clean toilets. Costs £5 per car which is fine if you're spending a few hours there, but not so good if you just want short walk. The standing stone is very impressive, lovely from there. Visited Delamont on Spring Bank Holiday. very well managed and toilet facilities kept clean all day even though the was popular. Grandchildren really enjoyed the play area and the miniature train. There is plenty of car parking available and toilet facilities. You may get charged to use the car though. The first time I visited there was no charge but the next time there was someone in the car charging £4 to enter the country park. I didn't mind as a lot other places charge also. There is a miniature railway in the also, plenty of picnic tables and also a cafe. Beautiful well maintained with lots of facilities. Variety of walks and lovely scenic views. Really lovely with great and walks, there are a number of routed walks of different distances to suit different users. Lots of picnic & BBQ tables. Good play , and there are lots of activities for the children to do. Toilets are clean and well maintained Plenty of picnic tables, large play for the kids, beautiful on our & the toddler loved seeing the sheep and of course the cute train ride followed by an ice cream.
