The are well maintained and although never far from Belfast, you feel like you are in another world.Only thing that could be better is a few more bins, I hate seeing rubbish in such a lovely space, I never understand why people leave rubbish and especially poo bags in such lovely spaces. green space in the middle of the city. There should be some public toilets though or the centre opened to allow access. Beautiful in autumn time. Various entrances at Belvoir, Shawsbridge, Minnowburn etc and if you near the red bridge you’ll get to the Lockkeeper’s Cottage where there’s a cafe and toilets. A very nice place to visit in Belfast. Highly recommended for families. The fresh air and the singing of birds create an amazing atmosphere of wild nature. Here you will see many people running, cycling and just walking. Visited 03/01/2023 well signposted and plenty of parking on site and adjacent if needed. I would highly recommend bringing your wellies as once the accessible finish as you get deeper into the forest then you come across the muddy trails/paths. We took a pram for the granddaughter but at some points was pulling it backwards through muddy so would suggest a carrier for young ones. Our little one loved the watery puddles, plenty of them to jump around in. A place to visit and lots of tree cover for when it was rainy. There were other which we didn’t explore but there is decent walks to be had and plenty of dog walkers with very excited dogs around. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The place is hardly 2 miles away from botanic garden. The gives beautiful sight and spotting of kingfisher bird, flashing and flying like a blue object all over the river. A wonderful place to have a long or having a bike around. It's a place to walk, loads to explore. We'll away from the roads so for dogs too. However, beware of Giant Hogweed! I spotted four areas, three down by the river. Reported to DoE. This is 2nd July 2023 Wonderful forest full of squirrels and birds. Plenty of for short walks but can also go as far as Lagan and across the the river. Belvoir Park has been my home for over 50years and I've been in the forest probably thousands of times seeing familiar places but always different depending on the time of year or day. There's miles of trails and sometimes you may feel lost but that's part of the magic of it. lead to the River Lagan toe path with more miles to explore. Approximately 5miles from Belfast City centre a haven for wildlife and fauna and of contemplation and calming the mind. Wonderful place! Plenty of walking paths, longer loops for grown ups or small enough for tiny legs. There is a stream when children can get into and throw some pebbles too. It's a place for a on a sunny day or a winters day! My two dogs absolutely loved it there are loads of different wee trials you can take but the best parts for me are the forest itself and the stretch of long grass along the Riverside. I use to come here as a kid with my parents to our dogs in the 90s to see it again today 😊 A well-kept and peaceful forest park. It feels like you’re nowhere near the city. Perfect for a little escape from crowds of people. In case you just visit NI the name used by local people is Beaver it's might to be just Belfast accent as well so be aware. So Beaver is an Amazing place for a to clear your head, spacious car park, unfortunately no toilet if nature calls but well plenty of trees and bushes to hide behind, if you into your fitness there is plenty of tracks and harder and easier to conquer, views no overwhelming dog poops on every step make the strol enjoyable. Loads of different types of plants and trees giving shelter to many types of birds and other creatures, Conclusion/Appendix: Go visit and enjoy you will not regret. place to the dog but trails aren't marked out as suggested as far as I could see so it's very easy to get lost.. not an issue unless you're on a timer.
