There you'll find the most enchanting forest with a crystal clear lake. There is a path built around the that can be easily traversed, it's a bit rustic and uneven, but most of the time there are handrails available. The forest looks like you should see fairies flitting past you. I've never seen anything quite like it before. This was our second visit to this park, and we nearly had it all to ourselves. It’s a bit off the beaten path to find it, but even if you have a few hours to spare on a sunny day, then it’s an absolute must. A well-managed (most of the way) around this pretty and when there is an abundance of rain, you’ll even see a waterfall as well. This time, it had been too dry, and the waterfall was but a trickle, but still a pretty, easy hike. A wee special spot in the heart of Dingle peninsula, great for a walk, a picnic, or just the views. Very accessible by car, easily enjoyed even by those with limited mobility. The hikes (more accurately walks) are good as well, a chance to experience the flora (and maybe fauna) up close. Some of the board walks were a bit janky and decrepit but it added to the charm. Very peaceful, short looped around the on a narrow with a barrier hand rail support for most of the way. Not suitable for very small children. To get here is a good distance from the main road, and it's a narrow road, so caution is required when driving, and there will be hikers and livestock on the road, i.e., sheep and cattle. This place has a trail around the lake, which is easy to follow. There are also 2 waterfalls and 3 sheep😊 trails and forest park . Very Accessible as there is also and upper car park if you dont want to the big hill. Nice 10km running / walking loop . And shorter distances if you prefer . My fourth visit - really beautiful.
