Interesting Castle, but the and view are spectacular!! 15mph wind off the Atlantic, nice walk. The Ballybunion public ist an eye catcher from above and below. Just go there and be to enjoy the beautiful life. Its not complete but if you use your imagination you can conjure up its past life. Impressive coastal backdrop with cliffs and long stretches of sand. Handy to town and there are public toilets onsite. Like I say its not complete and there are better examples but still its worth the viewing. I love this area it's so calming. The waves of atlantic along with the colours and the ruins of the castle make an ideal place for peace You can't actually get up close to the ruin, but can get a great photo from on the beach. No admission and lots of cafes nearby. Beautiful castle, amazing views, even on a wet and windy day. We went to all the beaches (there are 3) The castle is well maintained, access is everyone and there are little paths from all angles. Well worth a visit. One of my top 3 to see in Ballybunion. All that is leftover is this wall in ruins which however gives the travelers immense room of imagination. The mesmerizing sunset and the unfolding clouds over the vast ocean at this spot is awe-inspiring. Fond memories of summer holidays here 60 years ago, nothing has changed apart from the Castle hotel is long since demolished. One of the best strands in the world. Went at night, looks really pretty. Later you go the less people that are there. Nice vantage point. A nice quiet place, great views but be careful of the cliff edge. Lovely scenic area, with paved walking trails down to the areas, note the trails are fairly steep, but you can take your time. Lifeguards on duty and dog friendly beach. Even saw a beautiful cat on a tether sitting by its owner's chair. Tower was flying 2 Irish Flags and a Canadian flag, being Canadian this was very special. Town has lots of pretty Irish Pubs and amusements for families. Traffic in the core moved slowly, but smoothly as it circled back out to the highway. Great place to enjoy the day, or evening as most pubs offer live music at night. Its free, but there is only one wall left. On a stunning beach. It sits atop some nice rock formations. Parking is free nearby. A good quick stop off within the town of you need to restock amd refresh grab lunch or a pint etc. Fantastic ace, amazing waves for surfers, beginners like me. The is very clean and keep it that way good for family walks and dog walking, morning jogging or just sun bathe if weather permitting. Ballybutton is wonderful place!!! Piccolissima rovina proprio sopra una bellissima spiaggia! Molto suggestivo! Irish castle ruins, a landmark in the centre of Ballybunnion. No charge to get to this. A beautiful photo spot, with a great view of the beaches. Nice place to sit, and have a coffee from one of the lovely cafes around or even see if your kids can find some fairy doors . Its a lovely day there.
