We made a spontaneous stop at Ballyheigue Beach, just hoping for a quick look — and ended up totally charmed. We couldn’t get down to stay properly, but even from the viewpoint it was stunning: endless golden sand, peaceful waves, and that fresh Atlantic breeze. The whole place felt open and calm, with the village nearby adding a cosy touch. It’s definitely on our list to come back for a full day next time. A beautiful find on the Wild Atlantic This is a huge beach. Very clean, and very smooth. Loads of room for people on a hot Summer day. I can see lots of activity here in Summer. The view across the water to the sea and the mountains in the background is wonderful. The water here was very calm and smooth compared to Banna just up the road which is popular for surfing and boarding. It appears to be popluar with walkers, and there is also a walking trail that goes past here along the foreshore. Lovely spot. Beautiful beach! Very clean. There’s also a tap so you can the sand off. All beaches should have this. Good parking. Plenty of picnic benches and a few takeaways opposite. Play park right beside the and there’s an amusement arcade opposite. Very safe area. Hadn't been Here for years and what a lovely surprise, it has the most beautiful beach, actually the whole town was spotless definitely one of the nicest beachside towns in kerry. Nice spot to look out on the Wild Atlantic Way. The was covered in seaweed but there was still enough room to walk Great sandy with good amenities. 2 minutes walk to the village main street with public toilets, 4 pubs, a couple of takeaways and 2 mini markets. Just add sun for a fun time. Beautiful long stretch of sandy beach. Lots of space for walking, dog walking, swimming etc. Came when the tide was out and it was full of squawking crows, seagulls, and other sea birds feeding on whatever was in the seaweed. I have to say it was very pungent. But you get used to it. From a motorhome / tourist doing the WAW it’s not very welcoming . In June the car park was almost empty yet motorhomes banned from . Moved on and spent my money elsewhere . If The town doesn’t want tourists money remove it from the WAW route so we can bypass and go to parts we are welcome. It's a nice with beautiful view. Safe for the kids to play . Loads of space. Great long sandy beach, with fresh water showers after swimming. There are jellyfish but only seen on the beach, no problem during swimming(don't let them scare you) Amazing during sunset as well. Lovely very and loads of space between families, plenty of close by. There is seaweed in the water especially near the edges but the main area is fairly OK. There's also some jellyfish to watch for. Public toilets located nearby were and tidy. Beautiful big when the tide is out, and you can walk for miles Ballyheigue is a wonderful seaside resort with loads of places to walk cycle and drive to very friendly place and so beautiful.Always a welcome in the White Sands Hotel with good food .Delicious icecreams in the local shops and seashell chipper has a menu for all . Great place to visit and go for a walk. right at the beach. Beautiful views, even if the weather isn't too good. The looked lovely. However, I didn't get to go on it as there was a sign saying 'No for campervans'. And I was in a campervan. So, I left and carried on to Ballybunion where campervans were able to park happily. I didn't want to stay overnight, just to go on the with my dog. But I'm not staying where I'm not welcome and could get a fine.
