Then he had a sidekick who came and stood next to him, I had to look at him and ask with sign language if it’s open, that guy looked at the bouncer, suddenly the guy who couldn’t speak English could speak English and he was only talking to my very white Irish friend. When we got to the door, the bouncers told us that we did not meet the dress code, which was semi formal. Except for one of us. We are all black, she is white. She was the only one who "met the dress code" She did not like that and started arguing with the bouncers. While she was doing so, the bouncers let in more than 20 white wearing t-shirts, jeans and sneakers. Clearly, this was not a dress code issue. We decided to leave and requested and uber. As we were waiting for our uber, we saw the bouncers let in at least 30 more white wearing casual clothing, and deny at least 5 more black people. The last time I saw this kind of treatment was back home, in South Africa, during Apartheid. Disgusting. Have been refused at the entrance.
