Next to the vecht and close to a bridge is this small bistro located in an old style building. We had here a lunch stop after a cycleride in the region. We ordered coffee and a tomato soup. The service was alert and fast. They have an outside terras with a view to old buildings and the vecht. Pleasant stopping place I visit this cosy restaurant during every visit to the Netherlands. Great food, quiet scenic location and efficient and cheerful service. Recommended to visit by bicycle. Near the Zuilen castle with its fine art collections. Oh what an amazing place have I found here! The location is straight out of a romantic movie, close to a castle. The staff is friendly and seem to know what they're doing. The food is amazing! We did the unlimited thingy and every dish was as good as the previous one. There are some options for people with allergies and or diets. Beautiful location and staff. I do think it is rather overpriced. The bread with ham was really but 12.50 for a goats cheese salad which is literally two slices of bread, a slab of goats cheese and some salad with a bit of olive oil, was a bit of disappointing for me. Utrecht was a bit busy so thought to look a bit outside of Utrecht. Found Bistro Belle in Oud-Zuilen. It’s located next to Huis Zuilen and in fact shares the same parking lot. Had borrel snacks and drinks. All in all a afternoon borrel. This place is so beautiful but that has to be the worst kip saté ive ever had with frozen fries for 18 euros. I really hope it gets better! and chicken wings, very atmosphere, high in price. The waiter brought us the wrong (nice as well) but didn't give any compensation for us accepting those drinks; that would have been a gesture. We came to have just and we were sent away because "the waitresses didn't have time to serve us" because there was an event. The terrace outside was half full of normal customers and everyone was drinking or eating but they told us they can't even serve us drinks. Rude staff, won't be coming back here.
