On the route to Medias we suddenly sighted an imposing ruin on a mountain in the evening sun: the Stolzenburg in Slimnic. The road there is more like a bad footpath due to roadworks, I think it will be better in the future. As we arrive at the castle, we can see that you can it. Its even inhabited. The entrance fee is 3 lei per person (5 lei = 1 euro). No parking, you just park on the road. Maybe its a good idea to leave the car down in the village. We are happy to have seen this great and impressive 14th century ruin and take lots of pictures. Inside once stood an unfinished church ruin and you can climb the high tower with adventurous ladders. Egyszerű vár rom. Érdemes körbesétálni, aki szereti a régi várakat. Nostalgie, copilărie. Revedere după 36 ani. Natură, aer curat, istorie. ❤️ Juste une ruine, un stop si c'est sur votre route The is interesting. But there's nobody there during opening hours. Had to call and wait for a long time. A lady came, walking really slow, didn't apologize. She is growing rabbits and hens inside the and gets angry when I comment that it's a monument...Still worth visiting. It's truly impressive how large the is, it's too bad it's not preserved better. Unfortunately it was a public holiday when I visited and I could the interior as it was closed. The ticket is 3 Ron, as it was reitten with a market on a white paper on the door. I would like to see what's on the inside so if I get the chance I will again. Beautiful location which is being inhabitated since 2012. The man who livea here is really friendly. I was surprised about the animals (one dog and some ducks) and about the small garden he has inside the fortress. Entrance fee is 3 RON. One of my favourite places. You have to go inside the fortress. It costs only 3 ron to visit. A family lives there and takes care of everything in this place. They have a small garden with vegetables and fruits, also a bunny. Super cute. The entrance fee is a small one. There is the best host that can give you a warm welcome: a small dog that runs free in the fortress's garden. The entrance leads to the court of the fortress. Following the path, at the bottom of the fortress, there is a small garden with plants and, also, you can find some animals as geese, chickens, ducks. There is a medium tower, it can be climbed. The view from the top is breathtaking. It's quiet and peaceful. I strongly recommend this place for those days when you're seeking silence and tranquility because it's that kind of place where you can just sit on the grass and enjoy the moment. Very nice and quiet place, worht visiting even when it's rainy. The inside of the fortres is well taken care of, and the lady at the entrance very friendly. A ticket is only 3 RON. You can also climb the stairs in the tower which is really worht the effort as the view on the top is beautiful! Will definitely again in antorhe season :) Great place to relax and enjoy the ancient atmosphere! We were on 2 th day of the Easter. It was peaceful, quiet and pleasant. The Citadel became some peasants farm whom perceive an illegal fee for access, no receipt! How legally do those live there and in who’s property this citadel is?!? Says on google its opened but its closed. Its my third time trying to something in this area, open on google but closed on arrival. Dont waste your time with these local attractions. I regret coming all the way here. Tristă și neingrijita dar cu potențial There are no tickets, access is free but depends on a person. There is a phone number you are supposed to call for the guy with the key to come open it. (see picture) He is not always happy to come even though his chickens and vegetables live/grow within the walls. The history of the is to be found on a paper posted on the left wall as you enter. Worth going to see the bell tower, the "make up" room, or the attempt to build the church. Look online for the history of the place as well, for more details about ottomans, plague and the like.
