The place, situated in a bastion of the medieval fortress of Sibiu, was completely restored in the first decade of the 2000's on the same place where a simmilar theater stood until 1948 when it was completely destroyed by fire. Usually it's difficult to get last minute tickets to the representations so one muß buy them in advance preferably online. This is the main location for the impressive ASTRA international documentary film festival. It has four floors and lots of balcony boxes; prices are reasonable and the programme is generous for a town this size. Nearby, you can get ice cream and coffee , or stroll the park with the unique towers. Spectacol splendid We went to the roof this time for an Ada Milea concert. It was a great setup for an evening concert. They also served some drinks before/during the concert. The place was nicely decorated with lights, the sound was great. I would go there again! They are jerks and selling tickets in the second floor balconies from which you can't see half of the stage... So, don't bother buying tickets there. In one word, they don't care about the public and then they complain people are not coming to watch performances. The room is very clean and sound excellent. There are a lot of interesting concerts you can visit here. The program is really good Impressive architecture allover and well organised layout inside. Show which I witnessed was a never to be forgotten experience. Beautiful place. Would have preferred the seating to be a bit differently planned because if there is a tall person in front of you, he will block your vision beautiful theatre. I watched the Turkish State Theatre here during FITS. It was the highlight of my trip. Very good shows I"ve got there during the film festival so it was a lively atmosphere.
