The paddling was refreshing, we took a 2 hrs trip about 8km to sigulda beach. Next time i would start the trip from sigulda beach or from cesis to see all those high sandy banks we did not see this time. Solid boat rental. It was possible to even book last minute, good communication. However before the transport, some delay and carrying of multiple other heavy boats we didnt even use was involved. Did not camp there but the location seems not ideal in comparison to the many other campsites with peace and quiet. An ok place to spend the night but quite noisy from the young people driving fast up and down the road. Kitchen and bathroom and ok WiFi. Over looks the so lovely views but overpriced for what is basically a spot in a car park. 11 euros 1 person and a tent If you got chance try it definitely This is only about kayak rentals. They did their job. Took us with a boat to the campsite of our choice and we got back in roundabout 4.5h for the 25km trip. Water was fast, so we did not very much. We started 45min after we had to get there. Not that big problem. But a little bit nasty. The big thing was the price. 50€ for a few hours kayaking is way too much. Ciekawe położenie przy samej rzece, bogata infrastruktura kempingowe (dużo ławeczek, miejsca na ogniska na drewno) i miła obsługa dobrze mówiącej po angielsku dziewczyny (która robi tu za całą obsługę, łącznie ze sprzątaniem łazienek) to jedyne plusy tego miejsca. Minusów niestety jest znacznie więcej: 1/3 kempingu to asfaltowy parking oddzielony jedynie od szosy małym płotkiem (na szczęście jeździ tam niewiele samochodów), praktycznie zero zacienionego miejsca i prywatności (obok dodatkowo idzie droga na plaże) i sama plaża przyciągająca na pewno rzesze turystów i lokalsów o każdej porze dnia i nocy (jak byliśmy na szczęście i nieszczęście padało). Najgorszy jest jednak park rozrywki położony na przeciwko, który mimo niepogody serwował przeboje tutejszego Zenka oraz sanitariaty (po które głównie zajeżdża się na kemping w tym kraju gdzie można bez przesady problemu biwakować na dziko). Sanitariatów jest zdecydowanie za mało, o wykonaniu z osb nie wspomnę (da się w gorszych załatwić co trzeba), ale pomysł robienia 3 pryszniców bez przepierzeń jak na basenie gdzie są tylko jedne zamykane drzwi (czyli ten co wejdzie pierwszy to blokuje wszystko) to już całkowita porażka. O braku ciepłej wody i jej wyjątkowych miedzianych walorach smakowych już nie wspominam. Cena 27 eur za małego kampera bez prądu, dwie osoby dorosłe + dziecko też do najniższych nie należy (2024-07). Solid fishing spot from the shore in winter time Prices are not welcoming at all, they charge for person + caravan + car,so in the end it's more pricy than Sweden or Norway, but ,come on ,it's Latvia! Location is great, hospitality from only lady in reception so so.... Good value for money, rented a kayak and spent 4-5 hours on the from Ligatne back to the Boat Rental in Sigulda. You are driven from Sigulda to the starting point by the rental service. My only (and biggest) criticism is that there is no one around to actually help you haul the heavy kayak the 50 meters or so from the (only) landing spot on the end of the beach, up a steep hill to the base camp. Wszystko w jednym budynku, podzielone płytami. Zapachy kuchni mieszają się z zapachami łazienki. Za to piękna rzeka z kąpieliskiem strzeżonym. Excellent location, friendly staff, all the needed services, beautiful scenery. Absolutely no, there was a lot of dirt in the bathroom (someone left briefs and soap and other things no one cleaned it up for days ...) and a little bit of pushy service... Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von ca. 10 Leuten mit Zelt vor Ort und der Campingplatz hat eine sehr gute Atmosphäre. Direkt am Wasser, es gibt einen Strand und Beach-Volleyballfelder direkt nebenan. I would like to thank Makars for recommending us to go on Gauja by canoe . After 30k on foot from Cesis to Ligatne ,my knee couldnt take another 30 k to Sigulda . We thought of renting a canoe but i was unsure as I have never done it and i didnt know the . Makars was very helpful and open to all our questions,explained us everything and turned out it wasnt such a big deal . First part of the ,when we went in May,was a bit faster and narrower passages (splited) ..after the first 5 k was like a lake ,really calm til Sigulda. Instead of 30 k we did 10 or 15 on the Gauja and it took us 5 h aprox (with stops in the little islands on the way) instead of 8-9h . I recommend Makars and this experience for complete beginners . Owner is very friendly. However the water really is not good (it was stinky, we didn't drink it) and the shower not clean at all They got wc, shower, kitchen with cooking utensils, you can charge your phone there. Kitchen is not too clean, but it's not that bad. It's near the and because of it it's a joy to wake up there. Right there is also clean beach with a cubicle where you can change. I slept in a car, they charged for car 6 and for 1 person/me - 3 euros. Safe place where to stay. And it was quite also during the night (I stayed on Wednesday), but in the morning (around 8) the fun park next to this place starts making some not too loud noises, but it's not their fault, obviously. Grass was cut, someone in reviews said that it wasn't, but when I came it was ok. The woman who's in charge said that she hadn't cut it for some time because it's dry season now and if you cut it, then it makes huge dust clouds. I wasn't asking anything about that, maybe she read the bad review. She was friendly. If I ever come back to Sigulda, I would stay there again.
