It's a somewhat secluded point with great view, being the highest point on this island. Beautiful place....all hikking problema disapear with the Panorama Nice viewpoint, but unfortunately the fjellstua takes now 30nok admission fee. Only for a couple of pictures.. It's too much. I'm sorry. Only 3 stars Rundskue Viewpoint is a concrete viewing area on top of Mount Aksla (the hill near downtown Ålesund). From the viewing platform, you can see many of the inlets and islands around Ålesund. NOTE: This is NOT where you see the famous overlooking Ålesund CBD. That viewing area (mainly Aksla Utkikkspunkt) is about 700 metres further west of Rundskue Viewpoint. The Rundskue Viewpoint building looks medieval from a distance, but is more like a bunker up close (concrete creates that effect). A dozen or so steps up the turret to the viewing platform. Another highlight of visiting Rundskue Viewpoint is the woodland walk from the paved road (Fjelltunvegen) and Aksla Dam. Too short a walk, unfortunately, but very pleasant. Also, a few quirky wood carvings along the trail. Visited at the end of July 2025.
