It's a little on the pricey side but local produce including fruit and veg is always worth it. We love this place but haven't been for a while. If I may mention it's 5 min drive from gate farm caravan site. If the bbq is on then make your way here for your bbq Meats section. Over all really nice well kept place and produce. I liked this farm shop a lot, mainly because I’ve never been here before so everything was new to me, but a little disappointed to read other reviews saying it wasn’t dog friendly. It’s usually something I would notice straight away as my dog is always with me, on this occasion she was tired from her earlier walk so didn’t get out of the car. I will return as there were many interesting and different food items to purchase including dog treats. The caffe area was very busy and there seemed a lot of staff around. Came here a few months ago for breakfast. I ordered the Mighty Oak Breakfast and a cappuccino and they were great! It was a good size and priced reasonably. Though the cafe was busy we did not need to wait and was seated right away. The ambience was ok and the shop was generally clean and tidy. The only comment at the time of our visit is that one of the ladies that serves the breakfast seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. They also have a farm shop but it’s a bit pricey. Visited for lunch and it was very busy so I would recommend booking a table. Excellent service from the friendly staff. The lady who I think was the manager or supervisor was great. The restaurant is a must, they cook and serve the food in a wonderful way, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. You must go there! The best place I've ever been for high quality local farm produce, especially if you want to have a good BBQ! Also has a fantastic cafe, for brunch or afternoon tea. I started way back when I lived in BC nearly 20 years ago and they only sold eggs and honey from an ice cream cash trust box; my parents live there now so i have been loyal customer on my visits as it expanded into the slick operation it is today. Quality products - if over-priced (butchery apart) - but service is abysmal. I went this morning and had a cappuccino and couldn’t sit near a window as it was reserved (at 930am!) for 20 minutes later. I was only having a coffee. Came automatically with chocolate on it which i do not like. Anyhow, I went back later in the day to visit the fish stall, and got a bottle of Chablis to go with it. Was over-charged 5 quid which i checked against the sticker price - surly checkout girl rudely interrupted my polite query (it might be my eyes but… ) to say she had already called the manager on seeing my return. Manager checked price to say it was incorrectly labelled but I would have to live with it. No apologies etc for the inconvenience or error. I asked for a refund - not for the fiver but for the rude service. I advise checking your receipt in future and to not expect reputable hospitality or service from this venue.
