Former of Vaitkuskis-Kosakovskiai, on the hill near the city Ukmerge, LIthuania. Worth to explore the area and nature. Gates and territory are closed. So there are no entrance and possibility to view the from outside. Signs with info telephone are destroyed. Historically was very impressive, but at the moment there are left only some ruins. Almost nothing left of the place, except one tower, which houses a micro-museum. The ruins of the winter garden are OK for photoshoots. Entry fee is 3 EUR per adult (kids free), for the price you get a guided tour and coffee/water/tea. The older lady who is the caretaker is extremely nice. Interesting place to visit. was really great before (in photos), but on 1970s soviet government used bulldozers to level it and gave people old bricks. All that's left is small part with arcs and one with sleeping room of last owner. Now and 4ha territory were bought by some people, who are planning to do archeological research and use it as museum and gallery. It is free of charge, but you can support them by giving money for repairs. You can enter the free or charge and the place in general looks beautiful and peaceful. The owners are very sweet ❤️ Briliant women wich knows a lot of history of this castle!!! Best wishes fronto family with white small dog. Cheers. One of the most interesting manors (well, technically the one that is left is tower) in Lithuania! Check the working hours’cause it’s open only in season and at specific hours. The owners are very welcoming. You can enter the for free, but we left donation to take care of the place. But if you want the whole tour and being in a larger group - it’s better to book a tour in advance. The has 3 floors, but the 3rd one is closed. There is a huuuuge collection of photographs. We watched a movie about the Kossakowski family, looked at the gallery full of counts, dukes, family members photographs, booklets. There are things found from the destroyed ruins. You can buy coffee with doughnuts and at the 1st floor look at ~8000 other photographs. Also, we went down to the basement. The ruins of the you cannot enter, but still we watched from the outside - it’s beautiful. Definately coming back. It's not much to see as it's not yet actively restored, but it was interesting to hear about the history from a lady taking care of the place. Since it was in local language, I am not sure if English speakers would have same great experience, but it was definitely a much better experience than in other lithuanian manors where you are on your own. Take some metal money to leave as donation as it's not pay to visit. I believe you are welcome to visit each day, but not sure about Thursdays as new owner visits for the night. Sadly, the was very beautiful looking with long history, now only one and some ruins of buildings standing lonely without the life. The poster about the owner standing in the front of gaits in Lithuanian language. Super 🥹 Rudenį vyksta avelės kirpimo šventė! Galima paragauti pagal šio dvaro autentiško recepto gamintų skanių spurgų, pavaikščioti po dvaro teritoriją! Šiuo metu lankytojai gali pamatyti dvaro fragmentus, kartais organizuojamos ekskursijos, parodos.
