Kind of a must have experience when in the area but you have to book ahead, no walk-ins. The that serve is brined in salt water for 4 days and then is prepared for 9 hours (so for the 1pm serving they start at 4am!) in a wooden trough called särä which gives it a sweet and smoky taste. They will serve as much as you can eat and then you can finish with a fruit soup. Also the low alcohol homemade beer is great. Unique, very traditional and extremely tasty place in Finland. It's not much expensive, as main dish - specially cooked mutton, called Särä. is served unlimited. That's why, It will be wise decision to stay hungry 1 or 2 days before visiting the (but do not concentrate on bread and butter at the beginning, wai for Särä). And you always need to book the table in advance. In my experience, that's on of the most remarkable places. Once in a lifetime. Kiitos vielä huippuhyvästä ruuasta Never thought a main meal consisting of just 3 ingredients could be this delicious! The is slow cooked for 9 hours according to a 1000 year old tradition. Consequently, you have to book at least a day in advance. Ihanan rauhallinen paikka. Aivan suussa sulavaa lammasta, aivan mahtava. Suosittelen varaamaan kattaukseen ajan ja nauttia kiireettömyydestä ❤️❤️ If you love tender, soft meat & potatoes you're at the right place here. Served with a quality wine of your choice, this will serve you round after round of the same plate until you're sated. Be careful about over-eating! As a desert you'll be given a traditional bowl of compote. A tasty, memorable culinary experience for all. Absolutely one of the best if not THE best Finnish traditional dishes. Simple but tasty. Good service and friendly staff. Nice and unique narration to the almost 1000 year known history of Särä eating. Heartily recommended! Good for almost any religion, since it's lamb. Säräpirtti Täällä on käyty jo muutaman kerran – nyt kesäkuussa 2025 Mukava paikka järven rannalla, löytyy terassi kauniille ilmalle ja ainakin kaksi salia jos ilmat eivät suosi. Mahtuu kymmeniä asiakkaita, ei ole ongelma. Pihalla kohtalaisesti parkkipaikkoja, linja autotkin mahtuvat hyvin kääntymään. Pari kuvaa ateriasta. Unico piatto, prezzo fisso, mangi fin che il fisico te lo permette, non c'è altro da aggiungere great place to eat at this region. very tasty, big portion and helpful staff. must to visit and try it. kvass was perfect too) The only offers one local traditional finnish dish called Särä: a slow roasted with a side of potatoes. The dish is accommodated with bread and butter and you can wash it down with some sweet homemade low alcohol beer. For dessert you get a large bowl of fruit soup. The price is not cheap although you can eat as much as you'd like. The personal was very polite and welcoming. That said, it is worth a visit only if you like and happen to be near Lami, which is where the is located. I am living in Finland for 8 years and I am a meat lover ♥️.But unfortunately Finland is the poorest meat country until I discovered this 😉I went there from Tampere. I travel 4 hrs almost. It was worth to go. It was amazing food and cozy restaurant. Service was excellent 👌 and kindly.... I recommend to many friends...And this summer I will go again 😱🤣😂 We have tried the after recommendations. The settings of the is great and staffs are very friendly. I am a meat lover but found the meat is very salty. It may be the traditional way of cooking but people simply can add extra salt but reducing the salt intake is really difficult. I suppose it's once in a lifetime experience. I have tried many restaurants in the world with family so can differentiate with other places. Oli kyllä käymisen arvoinen paikka, suosittelen. We were in a today, we have been going here for many years, and here we are. Nice simple atmosphere and staff. The is very soft BUT VERY SALT! Even one serving is difficult to eat, and let alone what is stated, eat as much as you want. It would be very nice to reduce the salt - this is a request for the owners.
