A really good little with a very clear focus. The outdoor tour of the burial mounds was really interesting and the staff are so helpful and they really know their topic inside and out. Nice place to visit while the main attraction in Oslo is being renovated. The main Viking house is a must to see. We arrived late and didn’t have a full experience at the outdoor portion of the museum. We like the Viking vibe there. We tasted some simple Viking food and did some shopping particularly the stall that sells silver and bronze accessories. We got some bronze earrings and silver bracelet. A living history complete with burial mounds of Vikings. Interactive with actors and the ability to create tools from Viking history. A dining hall that creates a meal to take you back to Viking history Very nice place. Closer to nature and sea. Best place for a scenic walk inside the jungle. Great place to visit for a family day out. Closing is at 4pm but the ground can be visited after hours, so visit the center and the huge hall ( great). And take your swim suits on warm days as you can walk down to the beach after the burial mount. We had some interesting fish and shrimp nibbling/tickling there.😉 Un musée intéressant avec le reconstruction d'un habitat Viking. Great place to check out if you are interested in viking history. The long house is really cool and it was nice to just walk around the grounds. Clash with the Vikings and experience the life and times of Borre circa 800-1100 AD. The Midgard Center is a capturing experience with the great hall and preservation of artifacts! And be sure to try a waffle and saft in the cafe! Very nice little museum, most focus on the hall that they have rebuild. At our visit we met very nice people that showed how the Vikings made yarn and how to colour that. Also making arrows and shooting them with a bow was shown. Amazing combination of a historical museum, outdoor recreation and a cozy cafe with a stunning view. A place where past and present combine. The staff lifts it up a notch, entrance fee is just symbolic, and the whole place is both educational, relaxing and highly instagrammable. We decided to pop in to Midgard Vikingsenter and we're surprised by how good it was. We had no expectations. Hence I would recommend this place if you have some spare time and are around the area. Its not just a museum. But lots of historical information was given to us by the customer service and the guide who took us around the grounds. Oh and dont forget the fire pit in the grand hall it was amazing. My friends keep going on about it.. Blev litt skuffet, trodde at det skulle vara mera att se på. Flera gjenstander, liten utstilling Just okay. The vikings halle is the most interesting. I believe it's better to visit this place when they organize some events to make it more lively. I visited this with the school There were friendly staff explaining everything about the monuments in the . The place isn't too big. There are few ancient monuments. Park is huge, exhibition is tiny. Mainly ancient graveyard. Place with guildhall is nice. Generally we expected more and left disappointed. Beautiful landscape with great historical value 🙏🏻 Borre should be more well known around Norway and the people at the Midgard vikingsenter do their best to make it so. Very friendly staff and atmosphere! Best I've been to by far. Loads of activities (as pictured) for kids and adults. The land this is situated on holds many other sights to see. You could stay here for 1 hour or all days. Highly recommend.
