We decided to come here because our accommodation was right across the road and our wine tasting guide said this place was good, but we were pretty underwhelmed. The service was a bit strange for us, the servers kept pushing us to order more things throughout our meal even though we ordered an appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert, and a glass of wine. This was the only restaurant out of our month of travels where we were pushed to order more things. The food was decent, we had been traveling in the area for a while and had a fair share of ‘fresh and traditional’ dishes, and these dishes weren’t out of the ordinary given the high prices. They offer a lot of ingredients in their menu, also vine, which is a plus from my side. Also the waiter was nice and gave us a few suggestions for the food. The food itself was nicely presented on the plate, but to be honest, it was nothing special. When the bill arrived we were extremly suprised, because when you see that kind of a figure you expect much more taste, simply it was overpriced in my opinion. Wonderful restaurant with foods. The host was really friendly and made good suggestions for food and wine pairing. The weekly 4 course menu and the a la carte are both excellent. Food/price was totally in balance. This was the best culinary experience on out trip to Slovenia. The dishes and wine are just amazing. They started laughing at me as I was sighing when tasting the main course while the rest were still talking. The presentation was on another level and the narrative from the owner of this place made it perfect. I’d recommend it to anyone coming to Slovenia and wanting to try something extraordinaire. The food was incredible, cooked literally in our view on the wood fire grill. The service was amazing. I had the trout which was so incredibly fresh and prepared so well. My son the foal fillet which was delicious and my daughter almost ate the bones on her lamb it was so good. The dessert platter was do fantastic but us unable to choose a favorite since they were all so good. Don't miss this restaurant when you visit the Vipava Valley in Slovenia. Would highly recommend to anyone who’s in the Vipava area! We visited during off season and had this beautiful restaurant all to ourselves. It was a perfect and unforgettable dinner. We never even saw a menu - Gregor served us a delicious, three-course meal made from what was and in-season, paired with wines. I’m a vegetarian and really appreciated that they accommodated that on the fly. Vipava Valley is so worth a visit, and make sure to eat here during your stay! Restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and a dedicated host with a passion for what is served and telling stories about the region. We really enjoyed our 4-course tasting menu and the regional wines selected to accompany our food. Very reasonably priced as well, especially if you're used to Western European prices for similar experiences. As a bonus we were given a bag of freshly picked cherries from the trees in the garden.
