Amazing and nice trails A wonderous national park. Check maps for access to toilets. Well signposted for hikes, scenery. This is a very part of the country, perfect for or cycling. It is quite exposed and hilly so requires sensible preparation. It is very well cared for and there is no litter, but dog owners need to ensure that they follow the rules. What an amazing day out so much to look at in the castle and very helpful guides who are well informed. Great cafe with good choices and a gift shop . Beautiful gardens and waterfall . Price for two adults was £30 each but well worth it . Before you go in the entrance opposite the castle there is a big car plus an overflow car , £5 for all day . Would definitely recommend a visit. The is also rich in wildlife and features diverse habitats, from chalk grasslands to ancient woodlands. Just the most bestest place in the UK for what it provides and for me that is everything. Can walk from Seaford to Eastbourne and finish with well deserved fish & chips - then catch the train back to London. Spectacular across the South Downs, we parked in Butser hill car park, not sure when they will be charging to as when we were there it wasn't quite finished yet, but will still be worth it I think. part of the England Coast Path National Trail from Eastbourne to Newhaven. A walkers delight, taking in exceptional scenic coastline for the majority of the way. Beachy Head, where there is a visitors centre, through to Birling Gap where you can stop off for food, refreshments and public toilets. Large car here too. Look out for the amazing Beachey Head lighthouse which I caught at low tide. Could have easily missed. Onward, and the Seven Sisters challenges you but the vistas are truly worth it. Head inland along the river Cuckmere to the visitors centre. Parking, food, refreshments, toilets and public transport. Continued my way towards Seaford arriving back on the coastal path with less people than had been earlier in the day and far more tranquil. The panoramic view of the Seven Sisters in all her glory looked back at me. As whilst them you really don’t get to see their full majestic beauty. Awesome! The last hill of the day which was incredible steep took me towards Seaford Head West with the setting sun over Seaford Bay. Bit of a descent here and nearing my destination of Newhaven. A casual brisk walk along Seaford’s promenade and ending at Tidemills where the sun left my view as I made my way to the good transport connection at Newhaven for my journey back to Brighton. A great day’s the South Downs even though it was incredibly busy with tourists and sightseers, it didn’t matter because it was incredible beautiful, spacious, sunny and free. In the words of William Blake….Englands green and pleasant lands! Stunning views, plenty of trails both coastline and parks. Lots of wildlife :) Dog friendly both for lead and off-lead time. Plenty of places to stop and eat / toilet break. Plenty of parking. Highly reccomend for a good walk or hike. Good holiday area only went to collect a vehicle but seems ok Fantastiskt! Wow! What a place to so if you're passing through or fancy a wonderful day out this is somewhere you need to see. We travelled here to take part in a RC Crawler event and it does not disappoint. We spent over four hours the trails with our cars and covered a distance of five miles. In that we came across some amazing walks amongst the trees and vegetation, you will definitely need your shoes or suitable footwear to enjoy the ups and downs. Make sure you bring plenty of water and food if you're gonna be here a while and re connect with nature. Really recommend 🫶🏻 A view from Harting Down in November, once I got below the clouds We went at the end of the half termthe weather was ok but not fantastic but the animals were so active. Didn't get a picture because we were just to amazed but the snow leopard was very active also. Really lovely day out. The penguins are not in their usual spot because their enclosure is having work done but they can be seen at the end. Also Jude's ice cream is sooo good! Went to Heyshott Common, great place to with plenty of trails to enjoy especially along the old disused railway line. If you don't want to spend hours sitting in traffic this is the place to get away from it all. Perfect for dog although dogs are requested to be kept on leads during certain times of the year due to ground nesting birds. A must do for anyone interested in hiking, nature and beauty spots. From the Seven Sisters white cliffs at Eastbourne, to St Catherine's Hill at Winchester. There are so many places in between to go to and not be disappointed. I waked the 100miles in 3 days and can't wait to do it again.
