Văzută dinspre Lacul Pădurice (cunoscut și ca Lacul Potgoria), catedrala se înalță maiestuos, dominând peisajul urban cu silueta sa monumentală. Reflecția turlelor strălucitoare se oglindește în apa liniștită a lacului, creând o imagine pitorească și armonioasă între natură și arhitectură. Edificiul impresionează prin dimensiunile sale grandioase și stilul arhitectural bizantin, cu influențe neoromânești, având multiple turle, dintre care cea centrală, încununată de o cruce, se distinge prin înălțimea sa. Fațada este realizată din cărămidă aparentă și piatră, iar detaliile decorative și mozaicurile completează frumusețea construcției. Dinspre lac, catedrala pare un simbol al spiritualității care veghează asupra orașului și a trecătorilor care se plimbă pe aleile parcului ce înconjoară luciul de apă. The frescos are very brightly coloured and cover ever bit of wall and polar, with the pillars even painted to show the effect of extra roman style pillars. The view from the tear of the church on the balcony is a great way to look on the alter screen. Definitely worth a visit. Odd thing was that there was not any seating in the main area only at the sides, and the priests conducted the marriage ceremony in the middle of the church. Simply breathtaking. Градът е занемарен, с неприветлива атмосфера и почти липсваща туристическа инфраструктура. Въпреки наличието на велоалеи, те масово се използват за паркиране, а трафикът е хаотичен и агресивен – шофьорите карат с висока скорост и често псуват или викат през прозорците. Не се почувствах нито спокойна, нито добре дошла. Местните хора, с малки изключения, бяха груби и незаинтересовани. Градът няма поддържани зони за разходка, почти никакъв чар, а културните обекти не компенсират усещането за сивота и безредие. За мен това беше загубено време и със сигурност не бих се върнала. Не препоръчвам Арад като туристическа дестинация.
