It was around 15:30 when I went in, paid the 7 euros fee at the vending machine, got a wrist tag which I wore. I went to a changing room where I changed into my swimsuit. The changing room also has showers before one can use before the experience. The same room has lockers where we stored our phones. In the part, there is a rack on a wall where I stored my eyeglasses. On both sides, two good sized saunas with two level benches await. I had a nice steamy for about 10 minutes, chatted with my friends, then we went out and walked towards the ice hole for a swim, went back to the place and sat on the benches outside it for a moment to cool down, and finally, we went back inside the sauna. We repeated this for five times until it was time for lunch. I love the fact that anybody can add to the heating stones in the to produce steam (löyly), there's no seniority or whatever. There's also no limit on how much you can add, the limit is your tolerance of the heat produced with each steam. The people are also nice. We even had a chat with one guest who asked how we are finding the experience. Would definitely find time to repeat this experience! I felt really relaxed after the whole experience. If you will visit/move to Joensuu, Polar Bears and ice swimming is a truly a *must* try experience. Amazing place, really worth visiting. There are 2 saunas and places to dip in or swim. If you go during the happy hour you pay half and get to the ice bath and the for as long as you like. You get the tickets at a vending machine on the right after you go in and on the left you have the changing rooms. You also should bring a bottle of with you because the ice bath and can get exhausting. All in all a very nice place furthermore because of the price Perfect place to relax.
