It was probably very pretty once. Now it’s crowded with restaurants for gorging tourism (very popular these days). The entrance to the monastery is a waste of money. Nothing to see there Delightful day trip from Mostar! Plenty of restaurants and small grocery stores for snacks and Coke Zero. Beautiful view of the Blagaj Tekke from opposite the river. This is also the starting point of the Buna and the is turquoise blue and very clear. Though, it's disheartening to see so many restaurants and structures built into the riverbanks and marring what could be a great natural sight. The walk to the viewpoint opposite the Tekke is free. There is a carpark area (4BAM/car) just behind and it's a short walk to the bridge and viewpoint area. I believe the carpark outside, where the touts are, charged much higher price. This was a cool place. We had a very authentic and delicious meal here on the edge of the river. The Nature and everything around it is amazing But I really have to say its a tourist trap. You cant tell me anyone wants 10 resteraunts right at the place. Also the Parking costs apparently money close to it. I came around 8 in the morning where the first people came too. I didnt pay. Nobody asked me to. And i wouldn'tve done it for 2 Euros. Its not even Germany Prices. So a tourist trap. Go anywhere you want there and you'll be looked at as a Walking Money instead of a human Bean. Those People destroyed the peacefull place Magical place! Definitely worth a short visit when around. The comes out of the cave. Absolutely amazing to see. The place might get very crowded in peak tourist season This is a really cool spot and was a nice respite from the heat. The place is very overcrowded though and we weren’t able to get close to the water. So many people were sitting with their feet in the water, so when my guide told us the was clean and we could drink, I said no thanks. The old monastery on the other side is lovely but I think being made into restaurants. Buna river's source at the village Blagai. Buna is a short and it is a left bank tributary of Neretva river. The most significant structure at Blagai is situated near the source of Buna (Vrelo Buna) on 15-16th centuries. This white 2 floored house is a tekija - a Sufi lodge. Blagaj is ok if you have extra time in Mostar and a car to get there. PLEASE DON'T DO THE BOAT in to the CAVE. Its a bad smelling cave full of pigeons, all info in bosnian, it should not even be allowed to be offered as tourist attraction in such a spot. Besides that, the trip to Blagaj is basically a stop to view the monastery and take a good picture. In the way to monastery you will first pay 2€ or 4 BAM cash to park, than cross a way through shops similar to Mostar ones, than trough restaurants. We did not entered the monastery but in the entrance we were informed it is a 10 - 15 minutes visit. Views are nice, you can park close to the and then go by walking through a path to the viewpoint, you must pay 5€ per person to be able to go to the viewpoint. Parking is free.
