Abaixo do castelo está a igreja de Santa Maria del Castello, com afrescos do século XV. Pertenceu à família de Sacco e depois ao condottiero Giacomo Trivulzio. Foi parcialmente demolido em 1526 por ordem das Três Ligas para evitar usos militares futuros. Atualmente, é património nacional suíço, acessível ao público gratuitamente todo o ano, com trilhos, vista panorâmica e eventos culturais como festas medievais.
