S-a format în urma inundării unei foste cariere de extragere a granitului. Caracteristica sa principală este apa cu o culoare turcoaz distinctă, rezultată din compoziția minerală a rocilor de granit. Peisajul este inedit. Exista câteva foișoare ok, șezlonguri (50 lei/ sezlong), un restaurant și un loc de campare care arata deplorabil. Presupun ca se achita cate 5 lei, taxa de intrare, tocmai pentru întreținerea locului și curățenie, dar n-am simtit o mana de gospodar. Un spatiu verde si niște flori ar inviora locul. Parking, bar and small fast food available. Drumul, de 2,6 Km de la asfalt până la lac, e ca tabla ondulată de pe case și plin de praf pentru că trec camioane din și spre cariera de piatră.
