Wonderful stay at this very remote mountain hut. Janez was really accommodating even had gluten free bread! We had a 10hr sleep in a warm cosy room while it snowed outside. The Blejska Koča na Lipanci is truly a paradise! Our experience with 5 friends was unforgettable. The to the hut was excellent, covered in plenty of snow, creating a beautiful idyll, even though it was March. Jani, the host, is very friendly and welcoming. His cooking is simply top-notch – every meal was a true gourmet experience. In the evening, we enjoyed the warmth of the hut and spent the night there, which was a decision. Everything was flawless, from the food to the accommodation. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in nature with excellent food and a pleasant atmosphere! The service was very kind, lively place, food was great! Pine shnapps was surprisiny tasty! The pear shnapps was no good, though. We arrived here after a big day of hiking and were met by the owner Janez who offered us a drink straight away. He cooks all the food himself (with the help of a few staff) and you can tell he cares a lot about the food he is serving and really puts his heart into it. The atmosphere downstairs in the restaurant was as you can tell he really enjoys chatting and doing schnapps with all the guests. While the amenities are quite basic, it's really all you need for a night's rest after a day of hiking. And the smiles and hospitality really make it a experience! This was our second stop on a four day hut to hut hike, and it was an absolute treat! Janez (the owner) is what really makes this place shine. From the moment we stepped into the hut, it was pure hospitality at its finest. Warm smiles, food, and six shots before bed, Janez insisting every time. He even played us a few songs on his accordion, which he’s been learning. The rest of the staff were also friendly and made our night one of the most memorable we’ve had in years. We hiked here on the beginning of a 4 day hut-to-hut hike. It was our first time in Slovenia and our first hut stop. The owner, Janez, was the nicest and most accommodating person we had met the entire trek. Even though we were clearly American tourists, we were not treated any differently and felt like we fit right in. Although his hut was modest compared the the rest we stopped at, it had the most charm and made us fall in love with Slovenia and the people who live there. Janez provided us with multiple postcards free of charge and packed us an extra sandwich for lunch when we left to continue on with our hike. It should be said that we arrived at the hut early and we did stay the night there. It was only us and another group of two staying the night and the hut was not very busy, letting us really feel the charm of this hut. Unforgettable experience. Prices were the lowest and most reasonable we saw the entire hike. We could say nothing bad about Janez's hut! Janez is so nice ! We welcomed me as all awsome Slovenian People do, so great, with the smile and the warm of a good person ! As he was a butcher, he cooks very well.
