The Roman City Of Colentum

Betina, Croatia Archaeological museum

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Archaeological site of Roman nautical villa which is still under excavation. Very nice beach with little islands and walkway by the sea. Old Roman archeological site Colentum lies at the foot of Gradina hill. It was a Roman port town that prospered during the rule of emperors Nero and Vespasian. Multi-storey villas, water tanks, thermae and other structures stood here in Roman times. This beautiful archeological park is scatered on a Colentum beach where you have many information boards describing the history. No entrance fee, free parking nearby. I would recommend visiting this location! Kawałek starożytnej historii Murter, niestety tylko ruiny ruiny. Stanowisko archeologiczne i plaża w jednym. Wypoczynek i edukacja w jednym. Kultura liburyjska i turystyczna codziennnosc. Wchodząc do wody możesz poczuć pod stopami starożytne mury. A na morzu nowoczesne jachty, interesujące. Super ideja. Svakako posjetiti. Preporuka. Great historical site. Improvements are being made all around the area but they are not yet complete. Snorkeling was a bit of a let down. Lovely island definitely a nice place to visit and explore Mitte November, keine Menschenseele, wunderbar sehr schöner weitläufigen Spazierweg von der Marina Murter bis Betina. Niezwykle ciekawe historycznie miejsce. Ruiny olbrzymiej rzymskiej willi i rzymskiego miasta portowego. Nice place for a couple of photos and short stay on the beach Site of sunken Roman settlement. I snorkled the whole area that was marked and could not find anything except sea cucumbers and sea urchins on and between rocks close to the shore and on the whole ocean floor. Sea urchins abt 1m from the shore at 50 cm depth making it scary to walk. Visibility was rather poor.. if anyone has an underwater picture of what is to see i'd really appreciate it.. On the brighter side, the view is nice, there are benches, and the place is not as crowded as some other beaches thus perfect for a short retreat :) Beautiful scenery, ancient ruins. The church and local cementary are near. Must see when in Murter. Peaceful place. Some Roman remnants. The real specialpart is under water.you can actually, legally snorkel and feel like an underwater archeologist even without scuba gear. Prekrasno mjesto. Nice little historical place with plenty of free parking and cute little beach Jako lijepa šetnica, stvarno se isplati uzeti si 1-2 sata da se razgleda. Most visitors are completely ignorant and clueless. They don't know that UNESCO won't certify this site because it has been tampered with. This site is one of the saddest archeological disasters of our age. The municipality completely ruined the ruins. One of the few places in the world where you can swim above a sunken roman harbor. You cen see amphors as part of touristic underwather expedition.
