This is a beautiful with great views of the lighthouse near by and Tower of Hercules in the distance. Lovely clean water and large buoyed swimming area Amazing and quite beach. Faro de Mera is nearby and views are amazing. Sometimes too crowded during summer. Be patient with the traffic jam. There are beaches closer to the city, with easier access. Best in the area. Perfectly oriented, clear (and often cool) water, perfect sand. We've spent our summer holidays in this town for the last 25 years. It has become a popular tourist attraction in the last 5-10. Book early! packed in July/August and difficult to move around by car. Although you can walk everywhere. Great Espiñeiro 5 minutes promenade walk on other side of rocks at end of beach. (Where the white house stands). This isn't always as crowded. Both have one port a potty at the entrance and a snack stand which isn't always open. Port a potty for Mera is in front of Babylonia supermarket which is a street behind at the far right end of the beach. Good facilities for a nice day in the beach.
