Food and drink was excellent, as was the service from the whole team. Attended a Comic Con event at the racecourse. Absolutely brilliant event, well run. It was busier than I've ever seen it and I wouldn't go back on the public side . If you're into horses you don't get to see much of them at all . .even paying for a viewing platform would couldn't see a thing because there were too many tickets sold for a small area . The big screen was poor 😢 but If you're into drinking all day ,listening to music , getting crushed and not interested in horses then it's okay for an expensive day out . Shame . My favourite racecourse, great day out, friendly and inclusive. Great views, platinum lounge recommended. Train from Liverpool stops right outside the course too. Famous, and infamous, a visit here feels like a visit to hallowed ground (and indeed is when you see the statue to Red Rum by the paddock). I have mixed feelings about Aintree, having visited three or four times for races, including the Grand National. First, on the big days, it is absolutely heaving. Lager and beer is getting spilled *everywhere*. Wear your good clothes, and you take a risk. the toilets are… well, not in the best state on this day. And the food is questionable, and long queues for it. So be warned. You also won’t get anywhere near the finish, or have much of a good view as the course is as flat as a pancake. So bring a step to stand on to help. I did make it close to the rails one year, and a horse died of a heart attack right in front of us as it approached the finish. Poor thing. But this is the National, and you have to expect it. It did colour my feelings about attending and even watching jumps after that. I honestly found the National more enjoyable on tv than live, here. Unlike Cheltenham, for example, it feels like all the stag dos and hen dos decided to descend all at once, on this location. It’s chaos, and the entertainment (I recall Madness being laid on in the concert hall one year) makes it feel like the racing is a side issue, rather than the focus. It’s more important to get lagered up. That’s National Day. On other days, the place feels very empty, overwhelmed by the size of its own conference centres and stands. The racing feels distant, not very homely or connected (e.g. as at Haydock). But then you can get very close to the finish, no problem, get right up to the horses. So as a racecourse, much as the National is thrilling, I can’t say I enjoyed the day as much as I could have, simply because of the chaos and difficulty getting anywhere without getting covered in beer. So if you do come, it’s probably worth shelling out for the VIP tickets and make it a proper day to remember. If you’re actually interested in the racing, that is. If it’s just a day out, and having a flutter on a horse that has a name that sounds like your favourite colour, then you’ve probably found your home here… I won’t judge, just be conscious of what you’re after before you make the journey. I knew it was laps (4 for the Half Marathon) but there were parts that had even grave and narrow areas barely wide enough for to pass a slower runner. Not as enjoyable as Oulton Park if you want a better rave with multiple circuits and a smoother ride Great venue and well organised. Plenty of food and beer options and well staffed compared to years ago. If they could just address the lack of cleanliness later in the day and provide enough toilets (why is this so so difficult given the revenue they take?) then it would be 5 stars. Went for Fridays meeting, very busy but found a good place to stand in after the finish line. Good access to pre parade and parade rings. Enjoyable day but usual issues with food and drink being extremely expensive. Attended the Guitar Show North West on 1st Dec. Great venue. Loads to see. Hosted in the hospitality rooms within the main stadium, not a horse racing event Free parking. Very reasonably priced on site Resturant. Thoroughly helpful staff associated with the event and Aintree Stadium. Another fantastic day at the races the weather was amazing and the ppl were great. We booked the steeple chase car park and it was fine. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Its a must to visit on the day. Book early though because the tickets go fast. It was well signed posted, a bit hectic trying to get out though. The traffic marshals weren't up to scratch they seemed that they didn't have a clue how to divert the traffic. The drinks were a bit steep but that's the races for you . The only downside was the injury to the horse in the national. Good side was the winner in the national. One of the best racecourses seen. Lush green, premium lounges and well maintained tracks. Visited the racecourse facilities for a social event had a great afternoon at The Papillon Suite, food & drink top notch, staff amazing; views over the whole of Aintree Racecourse top notch, got to see Red Rums stair and leave him some Carrots. A fantastic venue, it's not just about horse racing but also show jumping. It is a ideal place for a small or large conference. You can actually get married here too. They will also arrange for a tour of the site including the stables, weighing room etc if required. Fabulous venue with fantastic staff. If visiting during Grand National week take the course walk which is free and you can walk or bus the whole course. Nice fence guide and lovely pin badge is included. Top tip pay a little extra for seats closer to the finish as West Tip seats are at the final two National fences and furlongs away from the finishing post. Regarding the Grand National Tour: I booked a place on the Grand National - Behind The Scenes Tour with Jane Clarke, on my own, as a huge fan of the race. What a day! Jane was absolutely fantastic, knew tiny little details and interesting facts. We explored the course, into McCoys, Stands, the Parade Ring, the Weighing Rooms, across to Red Rum's grave and a close up walk to the water jump. There was so much memorabilia (silks, trophies, tack). The tour overran by over an hour but that's because the group didn't want it to be over! Jane has all the time in the world for us. I would happily book this again in a heartbeat. We could take as many photos as we wanted. Tiny disappointment that we wasn't allowed access to the stables on this date as there was a dressage competition, understandable but still a tiny disappointment out of Jane's control. She did try but the stable manager refused access due to horses coming and going to the equestrian centre. Highly recommend to anyone with an interest! Superb day out on grand national day, atmosphere was amazing. Facilities were great and staff really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
