A great place to learn more about space and science. Tonnes of activities for kids, Denmark's largest telescope and a very well-run place. We stayed in the star-gazing shelters which were very pretty and well-equipped, though quite expensive. Since it's summer there aren't many stars to see unless you stay up veery late. But a nice way to extend the stay so you can explore the area over multiple days. Highly recommend! Fantastisk område og venlig betjening ved indgangen. Nice place to relax and also to learn a little about stars Well we experienced everything from bat detection and looking at insects with UV spotlights but seeing the stars Although cloudy it was a great experience! As a first time observer it was good but not surprising Highly recommendable experience for both kids and adults, very helpful and knowledgeable staff, sparking the curiosity of the little ones. We visited during Easter, where they had fun activities, and stayed in chic shelters that are designed to watch the sky with a glass roof window. If you go from Copenhagen, it is a pretty smooth ride by car, and you can combine with visiting close by cities such as Holbæk. Imponerende. Our family had a fantastic day at Brorfelde. The observatory is old and not very well-maintained, but the guided tour was amazing. The guide was super knowledgeable and shared fun and interesting knowledge that was both interesting to our kids and to us adults. We will be back to join some of the events to learn more about space. In addition to learning about space, you will also step back in time and see how people lived in the sixties as nothing have been changed since the researchers lived at the observatory. Lovely place to see a telescope. Also great exhibit on earth, stones and moon landing. I went with my three teenage children and we had a very interesting afternoon. The Observatory is beautifully situated in rolling countryside, and it's easy to get around the different buildings. Denmark's biggest telescope is in one of the buildings, and we had a good 15 minute explanation from one of the staff. There were also good displays on geology in other buildings including an entertaining interactive sandbox which is well worth a try. Fantastisk oplevelse. If you dare even the night, where you can sleep in one of the beautiful outdoor shelters(next to the mamouth) with a glass roof. You can relax in hamac and, of course, look at the stars. Don't forget to take a reservation of your shelter before. One of the few hilly places in Sjælland is definitely worth visiting. We had a clear night and a great experience. Lovely and knowledgeable personel.
