A good city escape area, public toilets available, nice view, forms natural pools at evening where water becomes warm. Day of horse racing which was unique as it was on the beach. Great facility, good family day out. Would highly recommend. Beautiful long that stretches for miles. It wouldn't be the deepest to go swimming, but it is ideal for paddle boarding when the weather isn't too rough. Some nice little coffee shops in Laytown and Bettystown if you are looking for a hot cup the pick you up. Sunrises are amazing here, especially in the autumn/winter. Beautiful and very peaceful place of course all depends on the weather. Make sure to check out the tide prior to arrival as that dictates of how much walking space is there at the time. Beautiful beach, goes on for ever. Fabulous backdrop of mountains to the north. Lots of sand and not steep, ideal for paddling or a dip. Just around the corner from train station and but stop. Lots of pubs restaurants, coffee shop and take away few minutes walk from the beach. Public toilets, free parking and playground. During low tide long beach. Definitely one of my fav in Ireland. Beautiful walks among the beach, Stunning beach! Specially beautiful around sunset. As a photographer I would say it is one of my favourite locations for couple or family photos.
