Short but great trails. Great woods where you can learn lot about very native flora and birds like oak, ash, birch , beechwood, alder and lot of wildflowers. Nice to have something like this locally But seems to be forgotten about unfortunately No maintenance on trees etc so in parts they're growing into the path, especially awkward when on a bike Little to no signage and most of them are worn away Could do with a toilet as well Nice to visit, but don't come out of your way to see it Beautiful little forest. I have only done the easy track on account of having to push a buggy around. Very quiet and peaceful. Some well placed benches about the place if you need a rest. Can imagine it would be lovely if you brought lunch with you. Good with your dog or alone Great spot for a stroll. Not a huge car park, so I'd say it gets full on a nice day. There are 4 different walls that are different lengths, however with a 5 and 6 year old the "long" trail was perfect, about an hour. There is a nature trail with information posts along the route, with a few benches scattered along the route. If you have a dog, there are about 20 signs reminding you to keep your pooch on a lead! Enjoy the stroll. A perfect woodland walk. Very well maintained and respected by all walkers. There are benches and even some play areas for kids. 4 walking paths are mapped out. Enjoy a taste of trees and nature. Beautiful wee forest with lots of paths. It is all level, and you can do them all in under 4km. Most are wide, but a few are overgrown. Some mucky spots. Don't miss the rope climbing mountain in the middle if the forest! Ample parking. More signs per sq km than any park, but many have nature info. Precioso parque para pasear y echar un rato agradable en contacto con la naturaleza Nice woodland - the longest trail is just over 2.5km so 40 mins at a slow pace. I was playing at a wedding around at Ballymagarvey Village and, having spotted these woods on the Google Maps satellite view, arrived early so I could visit them. In the summer the car is closed at 8pm (5pm in the winter), so I had a full hour to all the way around. The various routes through the woods are clearly signposted and allow visitors to choose the length of they want to do. There are a few playground fixtures dotted throughout, which it was fun to happen upon. There are masses of blackberry bushes, so visiting in the autumn would be particularly rewarding! We like going here at the weekends, it's quiet and calm. Most people are mindful and keep their doggies on a leash which reduces the stress of bringing our doggies there. It's nice and clean with plenty of space for parking. There are several routes for shorter or longer lengths. Very nice place to vist few things for the kids and picnic areas but leave nothing in your car the amount if cars getting broke in puts u off going there Lovely winter walk. Always a nice place to go and dog friendly Lovely, quiet on marked paths through mature woodland punctuated with a couple of activities for the kids. Popular with dog walkers and runners. Plenty of free between open hours of 8am to 8pm. BEWARE gates get locked at 8pm so make sure you've extricated your car by then. Wonderful Forest, wild but clean and with good pathes. The only annoying thing are the dog owners. They cant keep their dogs on the lead - and believe me there is a sign on every corner!!! It's so annoying for other peoples - if they this forest, they should keep the dogs on the lead otherwise they should go to another place! Small and peaceful nature walk, Wheelchair and buggies accessibility. Nice and secure car space. Different spots for kids play area. Experience the exhilarating thrill of a rejuvenating where you can escape the hustle and bustle, find peace, and enjoy some precious alone time! Imagine bringing along your favorite book, only to exchange it for a fresh adventure. It's like uncovering a treasure trove of knowledge about nature—every step reveals a stunning new detail! Went up today at 1pm and it was closed no information anywhere just gate locked Lovely area for a wander. Not large but has loads of paths that you can get lost on - and there is a map and trails showing the easy/paved walks and others a bit off the track. Seats/benches are along the paths aswell, and a couple of picnic benches. There are a few attractions for kids dotted around the place aswell - climbing frame, balance bridge. Lovely and green in the summer, and amazing colours in the autumn. Car is small and there is no along the road. Car is locked outside of opening hours so take note. Car has a little library box where you can leave or take a book, and there is a little covered area with loads of info on the area. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead. Beautiful wood walks. Nature. Amazing forest I love this place! Very nice area with acceible parking, not what it use to be though not so child friendly anymore needs an update mantientice OPW should look after the place its very beautiful but run down Perfect Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
