The Lime Kiln Gastropub

Drogheda, Ireland Gastropub

One of the Best Places To Visits in Julianstown Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. The best smashed potatoes that I have tried in Ireland. “The lime kiln” unique taste of the Boyne Valley. Nestled in the valley of the River Nanny, in the village of Julianstown’s is the north east’s newest Gastropub, opened in March 2015, after extensive refurbishment. Offering an exciting food menu, great wines and a range of specially selected craft beer from around the world. They know that great food starts with great ingredients and have created an exciting and varied menu catering for every occasion, for fish lovers, vegetarian, the juniors and off course some signature steak, Ribs from our “kiln”. The menu items are sourced where possible from Local Suppliers and are freshly prepared each day in the kitchens. Vegetarian and Gluten Free options available. Check out their bakery and artisan food shop The Pantry where they offer a delicious range of take-away food including homemade breads and gourmet deli bites. You have to book the table in advance as it is always booked out. The decor is absolutely gorgeous. The staff were wonderfully attentive without being overbearing. Perfect balance. They were extremely friendly and gave us a warm welcome. The food was delicious. Generous portions sizes and good value for money. Had the Jerk chicken, it was nice but the portion was a little small. My partner had the linguine with prawns and thought it was lovely. Staff were very nice and the place is nicely decorated and feels cosy and rustic A lovely vibe and atmosphere! It was really busy so we're glad we had a reservation. The menu isn't the biggest but there'll be something for everyone. The burger is really delicious and a good size. I highly recommend the mac n cheese side, one of the best mac n cheese that I've had. The was reasonable although a bit slow to take our desert order. The sed are very friendly though! We'll definitely be back. Very interesting and even mouth watering menu at first. Unfortunately the chicken was chewy (we did tell the chef) and the rest of the food was nothing past alright. Maybe we could have forgiven more if the prices weren't expensive. On a positive note there was a lady playing a keyboard, nice touch having live music on a Saturday afternoon. The staff here are so friendly. The food arrived quickly and wow it was so good. I can highly recommend the flat breads, they are amazing. I got the brie and caramelised onion and just wow. It was that good I ended up ordering another, just to take home!! The steak sandwich was great, a bit messy to eat bit good steak. I'd definitely be recommending this place and will be back again. Good place The food was exceptionally fresh, and we were particularly impressed with the chicken burgers. They were made properly, coated in real breadcrumbs rather than the frozen, processed alternatives commonly found in other places. The chips were also a highlight—they were clearly made from real potatoes rather than frozen, which made a noticeable difference in both taste and texture. The overall quality of the food exceeded our expectations. In addition to the excellent food, the was outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. The restaurant itself had a pleasant ambiance, though we felt that a bit of background music could enhance the atmosphere. That being said, the space was comfortable and enjoyable. Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience and would highly recommend this restaurant. We’ll definitely be returning. Have been to the limekiln a few times and generally satisfied with the food and service. Typically I would give them 4 out of 5 stars I don't know if Sunday was an off day, or if our server was new, it actually felt like our table was in in no-mans land between sections as no one would come over to serve us. We sat for 25min before anyone came over to take our drinks order and another 15min before we got our drinks and ordered. There was 4 of us ordering and the food came out in starts and stops with one person sitting with his burger for infront of him for 5 minutes before the next meal was brought out. The chips and onion rings were stone cold but hunger is the best sauce. Decided to skip another round of drinks and deserts and head home. Again normally a great place so hoping it was just an off day and maybe a new server! I never knew sausage rolls had such variety Just ordered beef burger Unfortunately impossibe to eat Look like a burger from a really cheap restaurant Few pieces of lettuce tomato Not worth money Very disappointed Great service, very nice place in general. Portion sizes are too small yet expensive. Went away hungry. Went here with a couple of friends for dinner and it was amazing. The food, atmosphere and were top notch. Would highly recommend and will be back again. Pricing is very reasonable especially for the quality of food. *chefs kiss 😌 Fabulous lunch, had the hake special, with mussels, sugarsnap peas, baby potatoes & veloute sauce, delicious. Excellent friendly and efficient 👌 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
