In the following centuries it was the residence of important Sicilian families and in the seventeenth century it was also used as a prison. Came through during closed time in afternoon but think town eould be worth a visit when open 4eur entrance fee. Impiegati super gentili e disponibili, pronti a dare spiegazioni aggiuntive. I popped into Adrano's Norman Castle not really knowing what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. At €5 this is an absolute steal! Visiting outside of main tourist season I had the castle to myself and one of the staff even accompanied me, took photos of me and Etna, and provided additional context. I enjoyed the impromptu tour and the sheer amount of history presented. You can't go on top. There are no english descriptions of the exhibits. But there are markings for blind people if they want to go to the museum and LOOK at the exhibits or take a LOOK at the city (facepalm). A ticket costs 2€ for people up to age 25 and 4€ for people above age 25. Absolutely wonderful place to visit.
