At first everything went smooth, we paid a deposit of 900 euro, and arranged to meet to discuss the plates, cutlery, food, etc. We then decided to set a meeting to have a try at the food. Like the Sicilian style, there was no strict fixed time for dropping by. I was having a make-up trial (which took longer than I had expected) so my partner decided to go to the catering place ahead of me. Unfortunately my partner was treated in a very unpleasant and unprofessional manner. It turned out that the catering was in a rush for another wedding. We can understand this, but they should have told us that they had a the same day as our trial and they should have also planned this better in order to be able to explain what is being served. Somehow it seems that this catering company does not care about their costumers and have absolutely no understanding of weddings being a very special event. This was confirmed when my partner was pushed to try the food alone and when he resisted (at first) unpleasant mimics were given and comments such as “why do you need your wife to be here?” (it is a wedding- what kind of dumb question is that!). We suggested the meeting to be re-scheduled, but Navarria said there were no other possibilities, even if our was in three months! At the end my husband had no other option than to try the food alone in very awkward and unpleasant environment – this is no way to try your menu which will end up costing approx. 10.000 euro. We decided to not work with these people, as we were scared that our guests would get the same kind of unpleasant treatment during our wedding. After long discussions with Navarria, we were informed that they would not give our deposit back. Basically Navarria charged us 900 euros for one meal, and did nothing else. We feel very cheated and manipulated, not to mention lied to. This is not what we expected from a “good” catering. Avoid at all costs! We had the pleasure of working with Navarria Catering for our on September 7th, 2025, at Commenda di San Calogero, and Gaetano and his team were simply outstanding. From the planning stages right through to the big day, Gaetano went above and beyond to make everything perfect. His professionalism, genuine kindness, and attention to detail made the whole process stress-free. The food was absolutely unforgettable — our guests are still raving about it! Everything was beautifully presented, and the tables looked like a dream.
