This is a historical castle from one of the most important in a Hungarian history. Istvan Széchenyi nick name was "A biggest important HUNGARIAN man". This place show why he deserves that title. Parking place is close to the entrance also available disabled entrance. Audio tour guide is available several languages. Very nicely renovated building, with a lot of of "the greatest Hungarian" inside. You don't have to be nor patriotic, nor a Hungarian to enjoy your visit, though. Even if you have just one hour, go visit, it's well worth it. Historic mansion or castle, former Noble of Hungary used to live. Short visit to the garden and the exhibition. Same village, short distance away the crypt is also worthwile Gyönyörű a kastély és a hozzátartozó park. Nagyszerű lehetőséget ad a múltba való visszatekintésre és hazánk legnagyobbjainak megismerésére. Köszönjük szépen. Great way to learn about this important noble in Hungarian and Istvan Szechenyi in particular. Ground floor exhibits in Hungarian only, but English audio guide for HUF 500 gives excellent information. Upstairs exhibit is about Istvan Szechenyi and his role in modernising Hungarian transport infrastructure in the first half of the 19th century. Easy to get here by bus, stop is a few hundred metres away. Very nice and has an interesting story! Parking is available about 150 m from the entrance, at the train museim (parking is free even if it's marked to pay) The residence of the of István Széchenyi, also known as "The greatest Hungarian", is a beautiful castle on the road from Sopron to the Esterazy Castle. You can find a wide exposition on his own and his history. The timeliness and the main topics are explained also in english. it is good place to learn about Szechenyi family, especially their contributions to hungary. now I know the of Chain Bridge! Woth to spend time here to know about the I stay in. Beautiful and nicely renovated castle with exhibit about Széchenyi István, one of the most prominent Hungarian politician/leader from the 19th century. On the other side of the road from the entrance, there's an open air museum with different old trains and carriage and a small gauge railway line. It is worth a visit, you might even see a functioning stream locomotive. The castle is closed for renovations until September 2023. The park is open (for a fee) with a small playground. Also the mausoleum is open but we did not choose this with small kids. We went to the nearby Eszterházy kastély instead.
