The building itself and the surrounding area give the impression of being cared for, and it remains an important and attractive part of the town’s heritage. However, one particular detail significantly detracts from the overall appearance. What was once a beautiful yellow floor has been left in such an unkempt state that it has now turned into a dark, almost black sludge-like surface. The lack of cleaning and maintenance is very noticeable and quite disappointing, especially considering how striking and elegant the flooring used to be. It is unfortunate to see such a visible element deteriorate over time when the rest of the estate appears to be in good condition. With proper upkeep, the original yellow flooring could easily regain its former charm and greatly enhance the space once again. As it stands, this neglected area undermines the otherwise positive impression of Paço do Marquês. Very beautiful village. Very good. It’s closed (at least on Sundays).
