The itself is totally fine, and docking is not an issue. The surrounding area around town is delightful, definitely vacation spot for tourists. The water is pretty clear and there are plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops and bars just a little bit outside of the port. A couple of small little rock beaches as well if you're just looking for a place to grab a drink and overlook the water. We were on a very long cruise from Venice to Portugal last year on NCL and one of the early stops was SARANDE. We had never been there before so we were excited to spend the day there. We got off the ship and self guided around using google maps and my research. The dock area is beautiful both from the ship and while walking on the waterfront. We just came to collect people from the ferry. We parked inside the for 500lek and could stay there all day. It was very convenient because the town of Sarandë is very busy and drivers don’t really follow traffic rules that go may be familiar with. The arrived late and the border control was very slow: we waited 40 minutes. A great surprise finding a European standards' city like this in Albania! All sorts of cafes, restaurants, shops. Worth a visit and surrounding places of interest like Butrint and famous castles and churches. We came from Corfu to of Saranda via fast and everything was quite smooth and uneventful which is what one expects and hopes for when crossing national country boundaries. Not sure what more to say. Nice small for a ferry's. Driving down from Slovenia, decided to take a to Corfu. Very easily bought my tickets on Hopper and everything was smooth and easy going thru the port. Waited about 15 minutes and got on the easily. Had seats for everyone and was across to Corfu in about 45 minutes. Took a to our Hotel after arriving. Very smooth operation. Thanks! We arrived on a day trip from Corfu and passed through the with just our boat boarding card. There were no issues whatsoever. There a short walk from the marina down to the promenade through a flight of stairs where you can either sit on the beach or at one of the numerous restaurants. The promenade was pretty quiet with mostly locals despite the crowds coming through the port. I want to highlight the TERRIBLE and AWFUL SERVICE at the cafeteria. Today we were there, we wanted to buy coffee and drinks, and they did NOT ACCEPT CARD PAYMENT. (Come on, we foreigners are leaving money in this country!! It makes no sense to expect us to still have LEK on the very last day of our trip. Besides, this is an international where millions of foreigners travel — you MUST accept card payments). The lady at the bar rudely kicked us out while we were sitting, waiting to place our order, and she even yelled at us aggressively. Honestly, she could have at least said: “I’m sorry, we don’t accept cards, it’s our fault, but you need to free the table.” That would have been the proper and respectful way to speak to people. Instead, her behavior was aggressive and violent, leaving us with a bad impression of the country. I truly hope they replace the staff at this cafeteria. I do NOT recommend it at all. And please, accept card payments — this is an international port!!! Caught a to Corfu town. Several options were available depending on journey time. As UK residents we did NOT need a visa yet (May 2025) to travel from Albania to the EU. Coffee shop on site, parking at 500 Leke for the day. Passport control quick and efficient Beautiful view on the Port, Beach and boulevard of Sarandë. Very interesting part of Albania. It's going to be a popular attraction in the future. Quite a South of France vibe to it. Ferries to Corfu leave from here. The cafeteria there was overpriced and not friendly service. Also other staff at the wasn't giving great customer service nor advicing friendly, where to go. But, its just a place to take a and return. There was no organisation whatsoever. People were crammed together in front of a busy escalator, creating a dangerous situation. I was nearly injured, and there were elderly individuals nearby, yet no one stepped in to help or make space. Our boat to Corfu and back was never on time—each trip had a delay of about an hour. In total, we ended up spending 4 hours including the extra waiting time. They claimed it was a 50-minute boat ride, but in reality, it took 2 hours each way.
