An OK venue for an event. However, there are few things that makes the whole experience a bit cumbersome: like buying a digital ticket but having to be verified on printed lists. Plenty of parking and it is free. Very nice swimming facilities, bigger than a conventional leisure centre pool, but smaller than a listed waterpark, it's some where in between. There are also 2 jacuzzi pools, that are not seen visible on photos. The outside rapids are formed in a loop that go around a boulder, the outside rapids are not turned on all the time. There is a small white slide that connects the 2 biggest pools, although it's one way because it goes down. Great ice rink. Two circular-ish pads which are joined by slight ramps, which adds an extra dimension to the skating experience. Was quiet on bank holiday Sunday afternoon. Skate hire is included in the price, but spectators are £4, just to watch!!! We've recently visited to see a show 'Rhythm of the Dance' An ideal location and accessible for all including wheelchair users if required. Enjoyed the show which was suitable for all ages. Pool and ice rink are okay, but we came for a concert this week and the hall is so run down. Awful smell coming from the main room and old flooring. The pre show dining was nice (carvery and a dessert) and drinks are reasonably priced but probably wouldn’t return. I was very disappointed with my visit today. None of the staff engaged with anybody that attended. They were too busy talking among themselves, not paying any attention to the customers. Very grotty and run down. Ice skate blades were very blunt, hard to grip on the ice. Would have thought, being so close to Christmas, that Christmas music would of been played. Excellent Staff are so helpful friendly and caring security lads where brilliant helping with my mum in wheelchair ( She and a friend went in to see RYTHM OF THE DANCE ) Couldn't have been more helpful. Top job guys. Parking good and free too For under 16s it's 12.50 per month and 21 for older kids. It doesn't offer a lot of equipment however for a beginner it is a great place to start. It has swimming and a sauna as well. Would prefer having more changing rooms. Has an area to lock cycles and ample parking area for cars.
