Ferries are served by Società Navigazione del Lago di Lugano (SNL). No need to book in advance - tickets can be purchased on site. Credit cards are accepted. The boats go to the respective location by stopping on other stops and people can get off if they want. The boats are clean, most of them have indoor and outdoor spaces. Toilets available, also clean and maintained. Close to ferry terminal is the famous "I love Lugano" sign. We took the cruise to Gandria without getting off at the final destination. It is a one hour and a half in both directions. The views on the way are spectacular. Ticket is CHF 39.60. There is a longer cruise option - the one to Melide-Morcote and Porto Ceresio. It is 2 h 30 min. and costs CHF 57.60. Grosso problema sono i parcheggi auto. Beautiful place, I took the 2-hours Ceresio boat ride. On board we went around to discover the beautiful landscape of Lugano. There was another option of 1-hour to discover the opposite west side. Attention: do not book a shiptour after 18:00. It is not included in the normal SBB pricing. They charge you up to 60 franks for one tour. Even I had a Generalabbonement (where all is included) They charged me from Gandria to Lugano Central 20 Franks!!!! Be aware!!
