Gambarogno Botanical Park

Lugano, Switzerland Botanical garden

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. We visited in late August. For the biggest part, this is actually a plant nursery where they grow and sell trees and bushes. The rest of it was a jungle of unmaintained paths within a jungle of not that attractive looking plants. No sanitary installation is available either. Entry is CHF 5 per person. This is a very neat and beautifully created botanical garden, full of local and exotic plants. They all grow in nature in this very special Ticino climate. The entrance fee is CHF 5 per adult, kids were free. This turns out to be a great price because the garden is actually quite large! Our stroll in the garden took at least 30 minutes and we didn't even cover all the paths. Well done garden, beautiful nature, exceptional price. Nice to have such a positive surprise once in a while in expensive Switzerland! Beautiful, peaceful Garten. End of March and everything was just blooming. You can buy here, they are not cheap, but there is a decent choice. The botanical garden has a very numerous variety of camellias and magnolias. Certainly worth seeing, but it's not very exciting. We arrive and I thought there’s someone will guide and shows us around but unfortunately there is no one and place is open we didn’t know where to start and there’s no map to show us where’s the flower + we have a baby with us can’t walk with the stroller 😅 overall the place is beautiful but with us we can’t manage becuase there’s so many up and down and places it’s dangerous to hold the baby and walk around 😅💔 Fantastic place, so many trees, plants. Very well laid out. Ellaina who runs the place is lovely too. Best to go in spring apparently but it was still lovely mid summer . Beautiful, but needs better path signposting (especially for those not so sure on their feet) and more signs on the flora to know what you're looking at. But a real micro climate and plant haven. A beautiful place, I highly recommend it, it is probably even more beautiful here when magnolias and other are blooming, but still, even on hot summer days you can spend quality time with your family here. A little heaven. It is also a famous nursery to buy plants. Be careful about the bus time table, check the return.
