There are numerous theories on the Internet about this place. Do your reading before you go there because there is not a piece of information on site. The well (sanctuary / astronomy installation???) is in a rather sorry state as it has been built with stones without any mortar or other binding element. There are signs of attempted conservation in recent years but those are just modern ruins today. The place is reachable from the outskirts of the village of Gurlo and takes about 40 minutes - a failry easy hike. Keep right at the fork before reaching the dam and walk across the dam wall then climb up. Reaching the well requires tresspassing a water protection zone althoigh no one seems to mind. Не можах да намеря пътя до него Follow the road to the dam, after this take the steep path, from the dam overflow terrace. 2.5 km away from the village. The well is excellent example of Sardinian sacred well outside Sardinia, probably several thousands years old. Nice hike for 30 minutes. Magnificent and magic place left to the mercy of the elements :(. Once, in the 80s a stone shelter with tin roof was built over it to project it. It was plundered and destroyed and the temple slowly but gradually is destroyed. There two tracks leading to it. The first one thru the Garlo village includes climbing and passing through dam wall and is quite and adventure. The other track goes thought a spooky forest, so dense they you can barely see the sun. Worth visiting going through that adventure! 🏛️Amazing piece of history! Now you can go with 🚙 is dug into a slope, on the western hillside system above the Krasava River. • The entrance is a dromos – a long corridor: • 24 steps with a width of 1.1 meters (9 above ground, 15 underground). • Below them is a vaulted chamber (tholos) with a diameter of approximately 4.2 meters, and a height equal to the diameter, with a well about 5 meters deep in the center. • Above the dome itself, there is a circular opening to the sky with a diameter of about 2–2.3 meters. Possible functions and interpretations: 1. Cult site for underground waters, associated with the cult of the Sumerian god Enki / Abzu. 2. Astronomical observatory or calendar, due to the light effect created by the entrance and the roof opening at certain times of the year. 3. Reflective telescopic device – according to the theory of architect Vassileva and engineer Dimov, there may once have been a copper or silver mirror at the bottom to reflect celestial bodies Acient place dated 12th century B.C. Discovered in 1972 by Ph.D. Johnova. It is unique in Bulgaria, believed to be most sanctuary. Road passes by 500 years old christian cemetery, known as "latin cemetery" by locals. A must see place and it is easy to reach it. Really unique place, which is hidden deep in the forest. There are some other places near by. Wonderful place . 3000 years old. A unique place to check out if you're up for an adventure. Getting there is tricky, but doable. Drive your car as far as possible on the dirt road. Then walk the rest of the way until you get to a sign that says "entry forbidden." Walk past this sign and walk left across the dam. Then go across the iron stairs and find the path that leads to the left, up, right, and then around the hill. Soon you'll see a concrete structure. At this point, turn left up the path. You will pass a tree with red and white martenitsi. Go up a bit more until you see an abandoned concrete structure with a ripped Bulgarian flag. The well is down the steps. Very good hidden place. It may be hard to find and hard to climb but it worth to be persistent. Loved it Interesting place. The road to it is more like off-road drive but it's manageable and it's worth it. In a normal country it would be an important tourist attraction - here it's abandoned and free of charge. Много тежка енергия Not difficult to find, but on 3.5 km from the road not 2.5 km as the sign suggests. Great for a walk. Интересно място но, занемарено.
