I had plenty of at both place to do everything I wanted to do (but didn't know at the so I could have done more). Just wished the started earlier, but probably wouldn't be popular with everyone. There was only one minor issue when we waited 10 min for someone who was not missing (because they changed seat) after I told the driver three times that everybody was there, which could have been solved by a simple head count. Other than that, no complaints, would definitely recommend to everyone. The journey was pleasant and the was very informative. Although it was self guided, he kept in contact and giving us once we reach the destination. The trek on the right was quite steep but the view was rewarding. The was and Phillip made a job giving us all the detailed we need to have a good in the mountains and monastery. This was a well organized excursion to Rila and the Seven Rila hike. Phillip was very well organized with a large group and communicated well with messages as well as a couple of paper handouts that offered concise descriptions of where to go and what to see. Go to the bakery amd thank me later ;) As for this trip, I think it is better run than other companies because you do the hike first in the morning so it's less busy, and Rila in the late afternoon, again when it's quieter. Some companies do it the other way round which is not as good as it gets crowded. This way was more enjoyable. This is an excellent way to see Seven and Rila. Organising public transport would be impossible, amd I wouldn't enjoy driving on those winding roads in a country I don't know well. Also they're not the type of locations where you want to follow a guide, you want to enjoy at your own pace. So this was fantastic. Phillip was a guide. Gave clear instructions in person and on paper, and messaged on WhatsApp throughout the day. Had support if needed but get the freedom to do what you want. The driver was awesome . If you are interested in visiting the Rila then make sure you book your transfers with Rila Shuttle. It is cheaper then a car rental and you will get a big car and private taxi driver to bring you nice and safely. Our ride was so relaxing that two friends felt asleep underway. Extraordinary balkanian landscape making the 7 of Rila one of the must beautiful hikes we have done so far with my wife these last years. Fortunately the 4 x 4 helped us a lot to start the ride in the best conditions and not to have to climb hard in the rocks at the very beginning of the journey. This self guided shuttle with a lot of and hints before our departure was a value to spend a day in a full experience. The timings of the walk in the 7 are guiding only, and I managed to do the route 2 ( full circuit) in 3.5 hours from the top of the lift station back to the same point. We were lucky for a very short queue up and no queue to go down. At the monastery, only the church is free, but it was worth paying to see the museums and the old kitchen. Wycieczka bardzo dobrze zorganizowana. Wybrałam opcje zwiedzania siedmiu jezior Rilskich i monastyru bez przewodnika. Jak najbardziej polecam, gdyż można chodzić po szlaku swoim tempem. Zabrakło nam jednak czasu żeby dotrzeć do jeziora położonego najwyżej, ale rozumiem, że nie było możliwości dania nam więcej czasu na szlak po jeziorach. Very comfortable, I had a time, the hick and the were beautiful. There was a bit too much at the monastery, a half hour would be better for me. The price is a bit high for just the drives in my opinion but not too bad that I wouldn't do it again. Perfect trip simple but yet still well planned, very accurate description/information via WhatsApp prior to the trip itself and everything went smoothly. Highly recommended! After leaving us, we had a 2h ride in a nice bus and then you do your own hike once you are at Rila (with all the infos and maps given by the guide). The hike was quite easy (there is a few steep sections but it’s okay) and the landscape are absolutely stunning! Rila was also super calming and rich in history - we even had the chance to try a specialty :) We really enjoyed that and would recommend to anyone that want to visit both in one day !
