Currently under reconstruction, will probably shine in it's full beauty... Dvorac je danas u derutnom stanju i nije moguće razgledati mu unutrašnjost, međutim uskoro mu slijedi potpuna obnova i ponovno će zasjati u novo-straom sjaju. Do tada ga možete razgledati samo izvana, dok šetate prekrasnim perivojem Erdödy. The composition of the Erdödy Grounds, constructed at the turn of the 20th century, is mostly based on the landscaping movement that started in 18th-century England. The plant life of the grounds and the grounds themselves largely contribute to biodiversity and to the environment of the Jastrebarsko region. The grounds have been protected as a monument of landscape architecture. The is designed in a free style and represents a continuation of the natural forest, which still occupies the western area of the park. From autochthonous elements those that stand out are examples of oak, maple, red leaf beech and hornbeam. Imposing are groups of old hanging spruce, larch and pine forest. From exotic species, more significant are by age and the development of the treetops of catalpas, sephoras, as well as weeping willow in the castle’s moat. The protected area of the is 9.47 hectares. The vast contains a brook named Reka, a pond named Park, and the Erdödy Castle, its most valuable “exhibit”. Across from the palace, there is an old granary with a green patio in front of it. Lanterns recently placed along the two main promenades gave a new look to the and made it an ideal place for romantic evening walks among the ancient trees. This renovation has brought back life into the after many years of stagnation, and turned it into a perfect location for permanent or occasional events related to cultural, artistic, and economic life of Jastrebarsko and its surroundings. The can now accommodate sports, recreational activities, and various heritage-related events. Ugodna šetnja The Erdödy in Jastrebarsko, the oldest building in the city, is located in a old park, a horticultural monument. Arriving in a nice you can immediately see a monumental castle. Unfortunately, the is now neglected. The is a lowland fort surrounded by water lizards. The was built by Matija Gereb in the period from 1483 to 1489. Later the bought the Erdödy family. And until 1922 the was in their possession. The is in shape with rounded towers. Stephen Erdödy, a lover of nature and hunting was founded by him in the Natural History Museum. Subsequently bought it wholesaler Ehrman, and when he failed in 1936, the municipality had bought for the children's home. Very and nice quiet place. Looks amazing from far away, as you approach you see that was forgoten. You can't enter or see much inside (what you see is rubble). Looking forward to renovation, restoring this to it's old glory. There are 2 boards English/Croatian near the which tells a bit of history. Surrounding nature is well maintained and good to relax in. The looks really bad but I guess it will go through some renovation. Unlike the castle, the around it is great. There's a small pond there, nice trees and great to have a 20-30 minute walk around all of it. Best part of Jastrebarsko. The building is under maintenance..but really a nice view with the and all thr big tree When you go to visit Jastrebarsko, this is biggest attraction to see. It was really nice to go back to 15th-16th century and see this castle. Location of is in center of the city, inside of Erdody surrounded with lots of trees and lots of greenery so you can enjoy it peacefully. Lovely and peaceful for walking, running, chill.. Trenutno u obnovi. Inmates: Serbian children. Killed: between 449-1500 children. The Jastrebarsko children's camp held Serb children who had been brought there from various areas of the Axis puppet state, the Independent State of Croatia (Croatian: Nezavisna Država Hrvatska, NDH), during World War II. The children had been captured as a result of massacres and counter-insurgency operations conducted by the genocidal Ustaše-led government, its Axis allies and other collaborators since the Axis invasion of Yugoslavia and establishment of the NDH in April 1941. The camp was located in the town of Jastrebarsko, about 37 kilometres (23 mi) southwest of the NDH capital, Zagreb, and operated from 12 July until October 1942. Camp administration was provided by nuns of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul order, with Ustaše guards. The building is currently being renovated. It gets 4 stars because of the around him, wich is truly one of the best parks I've seen. I would recommend visiting the lake of the park, with romantic paths, trees, bridges and lots of ducks 🦆 As other reviews have already said, the itself is not open for visitors, and falling apart. However, a full renovation is planned for the Erdödy so hopefully, I will soon need to edit this review and give this place 5 stars - if would be turned into museum or gallery, it would be awesome.
